Samsung begins countdown to Galaxy S3, anagram a start to an online treasure hunt?

Samsung sure is putting in a ton of marketing effort for the latest sequel to their flagship Galaxy S line. After a series of leaks, they finally announced an invite to their event on the 3rd of May.

They began with their teasing yesterday, posting this image above which quite clearly shows the outlines of a cellphone. Today, they posted a rather simple anagram on their Twitter account that simply read Destination: tgeltaayehxnx.

Solution? The Next Galaxy. They’ve also registered a domain, tgeltaayehxnx.com, where they’ve posted a countdown to the next clue. I also fiddled around a little and visited thenextgalaxy.com, which is currently password protected. Checking the whois database led me to a Singapore-based marketing company, The Upper Storey. Who owns tgeltaayehxnx.com? The same agency.

Looks like we’re in for an online treasure hunt, people. Excited?

It looks like the rumors were true, folks – Huawei becoming the third manufacturer of T-Mobile’s myTouch line of phones in a year (after HTC and LG)  has pretty much been confirmed in these FCC documents found earlier today. The FCC has approved the Huawei U8680, which has in several places been referred to as the T-Mobile myTouch.

Unfortunately, the documents don’t mention anything more than the radio bands.

PSA: Trying to persuade someone to choose Android over iOS? This video might just be what you need

We all at some point meet someone who’s sitting on the fence while deciding between Android and iOS. And the Phandroids that we all are, there’s only one suggestion they are going to get out of us.

Unfortunately, such is the horrible state of tech reporting, that there is a major perception issue that we have to combat.  "The iPhone just works", or "the UI is so much simpler", or the apps are so much more polished".

That’s just a bunch of boohockey, and these people who are about to spend their hard earned money on a new smartphone deserve to know that too. Share this video with them and get them to really understand the advantages of Android. And thumb up this video as much as you can, because this guy deserves props for taking some time out to compile the opinions we’ve all had for years into a good, objective comparison.

Been waiting to get your grubby hands on AT&T’s HTC One X? Well, you can now head over to the carrier’s website and pre-order one for yourself. Or, if 50 bucks means something to you, wait a while and book one through RadioShack where, as I reported yesterday, it might only cost $149.99.

Thanks, Jerry Burhow!
