A hint of carriers to support the Galaxy S III?

Posted: 04 May 2012 02:36 PM PDT

The new Galaxy S III may be cool and all, but I'm sure we all remember the enormous amount of time it took to introduce the Galaxy S II in the US. Samsung's new sign-up site for information hints at a relatively soon release of its new flagship in the US. In order to complete the sign-up process, you have to enter your zip code. The only reasonable explanation for that is that Samsung has already lined up with the carriers which should result in a quick release. Let's hope so.

Draw Something loses 5 million daily users in a month

Posted: 04 May 2012 02:33 PM PDT

The higher they climb, the harder they fall, as is the case with OMGPOP's most popular game, Draw Something. About a month ago, it had over 15 million users. A month ago, that is. App Data reports that the number of daily users signing in through Facebook, by far the most popular method, has declined by over 5 million, meaning that Draw Something has lost a third of its userbase. The Zynga-acquired developer OMGPOP hasn't reacted yet but when they to you'll sure read it here.

So, what do you think? Are you still playing or do you refuse to even try this game? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.

HBO Go, MAX Go updated for Android 4.0 smartphones

Posted: 04 May 2012 01:36 PM PDT

In a move that will surely please a few of you, HBO Go and Max Go have been updated to support Android 4.0 smartphones this week.  When we say smartphones, we mean exactly that - the handsets.  According to the change log, the apps are for Android phones running up to version 4.04 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

For whatever reason, HBO Go and Max Go continue to treat Android tablets like step-children and have yet to give us a good, large screen companion.  We get that they might have skipped on Honeycomb but there's no excuse for Ice Cream Sandwich.  And while we understand that it works on the Galaxy Tab 2 (7-inch), we have not found it to work on much else. Here's to hoping for a serious expansion of support out of their respective camps.

If you subscribe to HBO or Cinemax and own an Android 4.0 handset then we suggest checking out the free applications.  Please note that the service depends on whether your carrier plays ball.

LG announces Optimus LTE2, with 2GB RAM

Posted: 04 May 2012 01:10 PM PDT

Tell your desktop computer to leave the room for a moment, we don't want to embarrass it.  LG has introduced a new smartphone that could very likely run circles around the poor thing. The company today revealed their next big smartphone, the Optimus LTE2, and put it on the calendar for the middle of May.

Specifications are right in line with other top Android handsets and include a dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 chip, a 4.7 inch True HD IPS display, a 2150mAh battery, and a whopping 2GB RAM.  Yeah, that's a 2 in the place where you might normally see a 1.

Chances are good that we won't see this exact model come to the United States anytime soon, but LG is getting increasingly stronger in the Android game.  We suspect that we'll see a variation of this one at some point in the second half of the year.  This one will be for Korean crowd only, for now.
