ZTE N880E, company’s first Jelly Bean handset lands in China

Posted: 23 Jul 2012 02:45 PM PDT

ZTE is the fourth largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world, I am sure that people in States are not familiar with that because ZTE is actually more powerful in China and other Asian markets, although they are slowly moving towards the Europe and US markets. If you were expecting that top brands like Samsung, HTC or Motorola will come out with the first ever non-Nexus Jelly Bean handset, then let me correct you. Today, ZTE officially launched their first ever Jelly Bean device which is known as ZTE N880E in China, and it boots Android 4.1 right out of the box.

"ZTE has an excellent relationship with Google and this, combined with our extensive R&D capabilities and our experience of customising devices for partners around the world, means we are able to bring new technologies to market very quickly," said Mr. Kan Yulun,Vice President and CTO of the Handset Division, ZTE."Our aim is to provide the best quality customer experience for the best value, and the N880E is a great example of this."

Well, that explains a lot, but the phone is actually not good enough to compete with today popular smartphones. It's running on a 1GHz single-core Qualcomm CPU, 512MB of RAM, 4" WVGA display, 3.2MP camera, 4GB of expandable memory, and 1650mAh battery. Though ZTE can launch it as a mid-range device in other mobile markets.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus now available for $99

Posted: 23 Jul 2012 02:13 PM PDT

Samsung Galaxy Nexus is right now the successor of Google's smartphone line, and without any doubt it's an excellent device. Verizon is also offering the Galaxy Nexus, and it comes with LTE as well. Now the good news is that Verizon is offering it for only $99, which is an amazing price for a good device like the Galaxy Nexus. When Big Red launched it, the device came with a hefty price tag of $299, so it's a big change.

Though Verizon is also offering new devices like the Galaxy S III, though comparison-wise SGSIII is superior, but in this low price, Galaxy Nexus is kinda fair deal. Also it's a Google device, and it will be getting Jelly Bean soon, so now is probably the right time to grab the Galaxy Nexus from Verizon.

Anyone planning to get it? Tell us about it in the comment box below.

International Sony Xperia GX leaked in pics

Posted: 23 Jul 2012 04:55 AM PDT

LG's new Xperia device, the GX (or LT29i), may have been leaked out to the public in an international flavor. While the device is currently for Japan, there are heavy rumors that the device should come to the west in the form of the LT29i Hayabusa, and should be seen third quarter this year.

Now, XperiaBlog is saying that this exact device is being made. The device pictured is very similar to the Japanese version, but without the MTT Docomo logo. that would give it a 4.6" 720p display, dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU, and a 13MP rear camera.

What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments.
