Comparing the Nexus 7 to the iPad mini

Posted: 23 Oct 2012 11:42 AM PDT

Well, it’s official.  Apple has a 7.9-inch iPad mini coming in the next few weeks and it cost $329 or more.  Hide yo kids, hide you wives, this thing is going to kill off Android tablets.  If you listen to Apple tell it, the new device is going to be embraced unlike anything we’ve ever seen. Google’s friends and allies ought to throw in the towel, right?  Hardly.  If you want to compete on price point alone, Android is gonna be just fine.  Should you opt to look at hardware, Apple’s new iPad mini already lags as compared to some of today’s Android counterparts.

Take a look at the chart below and check out how the ASUS Nexus 7 stacks up against the new Apple iPad mini.  We’ll continue to update with details as we can gather them..

LG Spectrum 2 details found on Best Buy ahead of announcement

Posted: 23 Oct 2012 11:25 AM PDT

We heard back in August about the LG Spectrum 2 for Verizon Wireless, and we also heard that it will be out sometime in early October. Though we still don’t know when Verizon will finally launch the LG flagship device, but it seems it will be out anytime soon, as the device appeared on Best Buy ahead of the announcement. Here you can see the device with the Verizon branding on it, and honestly the device looks really tempting.

On Best Buy, it’s priced at $649 without any contract, so hopefully when the device is officially launched, I am sure Best Buy will offer it with a 2-yr contract as well. The device is running on a 4.7 True HD IPS display, a dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4  processor, 8MP camera and 1.3MP front-facing camera for video chatting, and a 2150mAh battery.

So when the phone is officially out, are you planning to grab one from Best Buy or Verizon Store? Tell us about it in the comment box below.
