Rovio has issued a “Hoth” update for the immediately-popular Angry Birds Star Wars game, adding in 20 new levels and some other goodies. Are you new to Android? First of all, welcome to the club, we think you’re gonna like it here. Next, let’s help you get started with some new apps and games. For today’s post we figured we’d start with one of the biggest names in media: Disney.

Consumer Reports releases mobile carrier rankings: AT&T worst, Verizon best

Posted: 29 Nov 2012 08:11 AM PST

Not a whole lot of surprising stuff here, as Consumer Reports has released this year’s mobile carrier rankings. The results show Verizon at the top of the chain, while AT&T trails all of their competition, coming in dead last.

Remember, though – the results are based solely on customer satisfaction surveys, and not on any type of run-down of actual statistics for the carriers. This means that your mileage may vary on these carriers, and others, in comparison to the report.

Let us know what you think of your wireless carrier below.

We said it yesterday, and it looks like Verizon came through. The Samsung Galaxy Note II is now available on Big Red, both in stores and online. You can pick yours up for $299 on a 2-year commitment.

The phone comes with all the standards:

  • Wacom-powered S Pen
  • 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos CPU
  • 2GB RAM

Also, and this one’s a little weird, the already gigantic home button is now even more obvious, thanks to the Verizon logo pasted on the front of it.

If you’re picking one up, be sure to let us know how you like it below.

Samsung offering stylish new Flip Covers for Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S III

Posted: 29 Nov 2012 06:26 AM PST

Samsung today announced some new stylish and colorful Protective Flip Covers for the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II. If you’ve watched any television over the last few months then you’ve probably seen one of these in the Samsung commercials. Designed to protect both the face and the backside of your beloved Android, these snap on the back in place of the battery cover.

The covers are great and provide a way to change up the color and look of your phone but, beware, they do not come without a price.  You can grab them for $39.99 a piece or in the new $49.99 two-pack.  Want to go all out?  Consider the $99.99 four-pack, a fairly reasonable bundle.  Head to samsung.com to learn more or to order a case for yourself.
