Posted: 26 Dec 2012 03:30 PM PST

Do you own a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 from AT&T and have been patiently waiting for the multi-window update? Now you just have to wait one more day as AT&T plans on releasing the update on December 27th (tomorrow). Here’s AT&T’s official statement regarding the update:

AT&T plans to begin rolling out a software update for Samsung Galaxy Note II customers that includes the Multi-Window feature, which allows the user to divide the screen into two active “windows” creating a split screen that enables fluid multitasking between applications. The update will be available for download over the air beginning Dec. 27.

The multi-window functionality has been popular for Samsung’s devices and I’m sure it won’t disappoint you! Once you have the update let us know how it goes!

T-Mobile Galaxy S III LTE on the horizon?

Posted: 26 Dec 2012 01:20 PM PST

At this point, nothing surprises us when it comes to the Samsung Galaxy lineup of devices and its variants. This latest rumor comes by way of the Bluetooth SIG database. It looks like we’ll soon see the SGH-T999L Galaxy S III on T-Mobile’s network if the screenshot above holds true. At this point it’s anyone’s guess as to what exactly the “L” stands for or introduces in the model number. Of course the first thing that comes to most of our minds is LTE. Is T-Mobile readying Samsung’s flagship phone with LTE compatibility? We do know that in 2013 they plan on rolling out their LTE service, so what better way to introduce that than with a shiny new Galaxy S III wielding LTE? Hopefully we’ll find out more about the mysterious “L” model soon.

Samsung GT-I9500 talk surfaces again

Posted: 26 Dec 2012 01:01 PM PST

Talk of the Samsung GT-I9500 device isn’t really anything new. Way back in March, we saw this model number pop up on a Tizen developers’ device. However, a tipster over at SamMobile has confirmed that there will in fact be two variants of the 9500 model: the aforementioned GT-I9500 and the GT-I9505. Exactly what these devices will end up being is still anyone’s guess. The tipster was able to procure the full model numbers of both of these variants, but even he doesn’t know exactly what they are. Common sense would tell us that the Galaxy S II being the 9100 and the S III being the 9300 would mean that the as-yet announced S IV (i.e. 4) would naturally be the 9500 with the 9505 possibly being an LTE version. However, apparently the number ’4′ is an unlucky number in Korea, so who knows what they have up their sleeve. This talk will certainly heat up as we approach January’s CES, and we’ll be there to provide any updates.

ZTE Nubia Z5 Quad-Core, 5″ 1080p Device Drops Today In China

Posted: 26 Dec 2012 12:22 PM PST

It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the Nubia Z5 other than than the ‘December release date’ update back in early November. All of that changes today as the release of the ZTE Nubia Z5 has officially arrive in China. It looks like the early leaked information was correct regarding some of the specs including the device rocking a 5-inch, 1080p display and a 13MP rear camera. We now know that it’ll also have 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and also Dolby Digital Plus sound to go along with that 1.5Ghz quad core processor.

In the leaks of the device last month, it was being shown side-by-side against an iPhone 5. The pictures were – not too sneakily – comparing how thin the Z5 was compared to the very thin Apple device. As it turns out, it was for good reason. This quad-core beast is only 7.6mm thin which is the clubhouse leader in the 5-inch display market.  What’s even more remarkable is that it still managed to squeeze in a 2300Mah battery all while weighing in at 126g. I know, how much right? We’re looking ¥3,456, or about $550 for the aluminum version and a bank-breaking ¥7,890 (about $1,260) for the titanium edition. There’s no official word on international availability yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

Panasonic P-02E Smartphone Outed By FCC Listing

Posted: 26 Dec 2012 12:10 PM PST

NTT DoCoMo customers in Japan will have a new toy from Panasonic to look forward to in the near-future. According to a newly-surfaced FCC listing, details for a mysterious P-02E has been made available for the world’s eyes to see. According to the listing, the newly unveiled device will have NFC capability, an LTE chip and wait for it— a retractable TV antenna. In addition to the newly highlighted features of the smartphone, there have been previous rumors highlighting the new device will have Jelly Bean on-board, a 5-inch screen capable of a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor.

Of course NTT DoCoMo customers probably won’t need to wait long for this puppy to hit the marketplace from this point, though those of us out here in the States will probably not want to hold our collective breaths anytime soon.
