Twitter releases updates, tweet in less than six seconds

Posted: 29 May 2013 12:23 PM PDT

twitterTwitter released a new update for Android users today, making tweeting “even easier and more seamless.” Here are a few of the new features according to Twitters official blog:

  • Photos: When you add a photo to your Tweet, you'll see a full preview of your photo, not just the cropped version. We've also redesigned the experience to make it easy to share a photo from your camera roll: simply click the photo icon on the bottom right corner of the Tweet box.
  • Accounts: When you compose a Tweet, you'll see your avatar and username, giving you a better sense of how your Tweet will actually appear. If you tweet from multiple accounts, it's now easier to select the account you want to use by simply tapping on your avatar.
  • Location: You can still add or remove your location from individual Tweets right from the Tweet box.

Twitter also added a feature that will allow users to see more info about interactions on Twitter right in the Notifications Drawer. With just a swipe, you can expand the notification and see more details. All of these updates combined will supposedly allow users to send a tweet in less than six seconds!

To check it out, grab the update now on Google Play.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 with AT&T friendly LTE receives the FCC’s approval

Posted: 29 May 2013 09:22 AM PDT

ATT_620x350Not a fan of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 Wi-Fi only? Not to worry, as the opportunity to buy an LTE version could be coming soon. The FCC just gave their blessing on a version that includes an 850 /1900 GSM radio along with LTE bands 2, 4, 5, and 17 (all signs of hardware that plays well with AT&T’s network.)

Now don’t get too excited yet, as the FCC’s approval doesn’t mean that it will be released or that AT&T will announce a carrier version. There is hope however, so hang on tight. We will make sure to update you as soon as we know more!

Leaked Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini specs suggest smaller, less powerful experience

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini should not only be smaller than the flagship experience, but it could also be less powerful as well.

German tech site All About Samsung stumbled across some benchmarks which show the yet announced handset as having a Qualcomm dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. Powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the screen looks to be a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display at 960×540 resolution.

Just for the sake of comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S4 employs a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of memory, a 5-inch display, and a 13-megapixel rear camera.

Although Samsung has seemingly confirmed the Galaxy S4 Mini, it has been rather coy about the details. Presumably, Samsung announces the handset at the June 20 event.
