HTC Desire 200 image and specs revealed

Posted: 17 Jun 2013 03:58 PM PDT

We recently reported of the new budget handsets from HTC. While the specs aren’t at all impressive, if the HTC One is any indication of the quality of materials used, it should actually be a real contender against other budget handsets.

The leaked specs from Pocket-Lint are up after the break. But first, here’s a video! Please turn your volume down before hitting the big button. It is loud. You have been warned.

It looks as though the specs are reminiscent of what we saw in the initial leaks.

3.5 inch 320 x 480 display, 512 MB of RAM, single-core 1 GHz processor, a 1,400 mAH removable battery all running everyone’s favorite Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Ha.

I should add, that HTC’s Sense Skin has proven in late version to be extremely smooth. So it may make up for the older Android API.

Anyone looking forward to the new HTC budget handsets? I know I have a few friends and family to whom I’ll be forwarding this article. What about you? Let us know is the comments below!

In the market for a new smartphone or tablet accessory for your beloved Android? Fortunately for you, there are a number of companies who provide a portfolio of wonderful products to choose from. One such company that we’d like to draw attention to is Cygnett.

We recently received a handful of cases for the Samsung Galaxy S4, all of which offered different features and finishes. Suffice it to say, there’s something here for everyone. Looking for a classy, shiny finish to draw attention – consider the Urban Shield. Want to downplay things a bit and add some functionality? You might like the Cache Charcoal as it features a screen cover and a slot for credit cards.

Some are a little more rugged and thick while others are slim and add next to no weight or thickness. Whatever the needs for your Samsung Galaxy S4, Cygnett has something for you.

AT&T has shed some additional light on the upcoming availability of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0. Specifically, we now have the pricing options and arrival date.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 will run $399.99 with a two-year agreement starting from June 21.  If that’s not your cup of tea then perhaps you’ll consider pairing it with the purchase of a Samsung smartphone.

Even better, customers can bundle the tablet and plan with a Samsung Galaxy S® 4, Samsung Galaxy S® 4 Active™, or Samsung  Galaxy Note® II smartphone and receive the Galaxy Note 8.0 for just $199.99!

Of course you’ll have to sign up to the requisite plans with activation and contractual obligations. Nevertheless, we’re happy to see a few options for customers interested in picking up the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0.

Verizon tipped to offer limited edition Samsung Galaxy S4

Posted: 17 Jun 2013 09:42 AM PDT

How would you like to handpick the design of your Samsung Galaxy S4? Not just the wallpaper, mind you, but the outside case as well. That looks to be on tap for Verizon as @evleaks tells us the carrier is set to offer limited editions of the flagship Samsung experience.

It’s not immediately clear how customized the Galaxy S4 will be and what brand(s) will be offered. We’d like to imagine customers will be able to upload an image for a custom shell with pictures of the grand-kids or something along those lines.

Instagram videos expected for Facebook’s June 20 event

Posted: 17 Jun 2013 07:44 AM PDT

Facebook will introduce a new Instagram video feature on June 20, according to a new TechCrunch report. Likely as a result of Vine‘s growing popularity, the social network giant is looking to keep pace with short, personal videos of around 5-10 second length.

No word, yet, on whether the users will be able to apply filters and, if so, how they will work. Considering the whole “Instagram” name is tied here, we might anticipate at least some sort of effects. We’ll find out, for certain, in just a few days!

Samsung Galaxy S4 Advanced to launch in international markets

Posted: 17 Jun 2013 06:45 AM PDT

As if there weren’t already enough Samsung Galaxy S4 models to contend with, Samsung is expected to announce at least one more. A so-called Galaxy S4 Advanced is slated to launch in international markets with support for a much faster 4G LTE connectivity.

The new S4 will use LTE-Advanced 4G technology, an upgrade from conventional 4G called LTE, or long term evolution. LTE-Advanced offers data transmission at up to twice the normal 4G speed. The phones will be powered by Qualcomm chips.

An example given for the faster LTE is that a normal movie may take more than three minutes to download on standard LTE. With LTE-Advanced, however, the download time is barely over one minute.

Expected to carry a slight premium over the current Galaxy S4, the phone will start rollout this month in South Korea. Don’t look for the Samsung Galaxy S4 Advanced to come to the United States as we are not equipped to support the faster LTE networks.
