Earlier today word came out that the LG Optimus G2 may be one of the first phones to hit the market with 3GB of RAM. More details about the device have surfaced, though the new information may just muddy the waters a bit. Previously it was believed the Optimus G2 would have a 5.5-inch screen. New information indicates the smartphone will only have a 5.2-inch screen, though it will run at 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution. Besides the large HD screen, a new photo appears to confirm earlier reports that LG has moved various buttons, like the volume rockers, to the back of the device. This means the bezel and overall device size can be minimized despite the large screen. Reports also indicate LG is incorporating optical image stabilization into the 13MP camera so better video will result. LG has an event scheduled for August 7th in New York City. We anticipate there will be more leaks about the Optimus G2 and other LG devices between now and then, when the official specifications should be revealed. source: Techblog

With the HTC One Mini ready to start hitting carrier shelves in the near future, units are getting into the hands of individuals for testing, preparation of marketing materials, and other activities required to bring a new product to market. A source in Bulgaria claimed one of the units landed in the hands of someone who managed to take some pictures of the new smartphone. The source indicated the device came with a 4.3-inch display running at 1280 x 720 resolution and Android 4.2.2. The core chipset and memory is expected to be the same as the HTC One, making it just as powerful as its larger sibling. Some information regarding upcoming devices to be sold through O2 Germany show several new HTC devices, some devices from Sony, a pair of mysterious Nokia devices to go with several WP8 handsets, and a couple Huawei smartphones. None of the devices are available now, but their presence on the list indicates O2 Germany anticipates selling them in the near future. The HTC devices include silver and black versions of the HTC One and an HTC Desire 500. We have no word yet on the details of the HTC Desire 500, but just based on the model number it should be a slightly de-tuned version of the HTC Desire 600 announced earlier this year. More intriguing are the listings for the HTC One Mini, to be available in silver and black, and the HTC One Max in silver. The smaller and larger versions of the HTC One are consistent with signs that HTC is using a strategy similar to Samsung’s of producing different size devices that are part of their top model line. In the Nokia device section of the leaked document, two mysterious listings appear. The list includes “Eros” and “Mars” devices. Many are wondering whether the Eros listing is really a typo and should be Eos. Regardless, the variation from the standard Lumia model name could indicate something different coming from Nokia. Is it possible Nokia is expanding their offerings beyond Windows Phone devices? With this leaked information, there is no doubt people will be on the prowl for information about these new devices, whether they were already expected or were something out of the blue. source: mobiFlip

If you own a rooted Galaxy S 4 and you’ve decided to stick to the stock ROM, then you are without a doubt tired of the dozens of useless apps cluttering your drawer. Lucky for you, XDA Senior Member schoolsux, has developed the TrulyClean script that safely removes over 98 apps that aren’t crucial to the system. Not only does this method save a lot of time and energy, it will also bring you a noticeable boost in performance, and free up about 600-megabytes of storage. TrulyClean removes everything from S Voice and Samsung Hub to more standard Google apps such as Gmail and Google+. While the standard script removes the stock browser, there is an alternate version that leaves it intact. Their is also a simple tutorial on editing the script to keep certain apps. For anyone who has spent a minute in recovery mode, the TrulyClean script is very easy to install as it comes in a prepackaged flashable .zip folder. The developer recommends doing a full wipe before flashing, but its not a requirement. Just make sure to secure any vital data via your preferred backup method. Motorola’s X Phone campaign went live today, and with it comes a sign up page to be the first to know about the device when it becomes official. Normally, you find out the official details of a device way before they come out thanks to leaks ahead of time, but with how much mystery Motorola has surrounding this phone, signing up might be a good idea. While Twitter is certainly doing its best to lay the smackdown on Falcon Pro, it doesn’t mean that the awesome Twitter client should be left for dead just yet. Developer Joaquim Verges recently announced that while Falcon has used up all its tokens, the app can still be used— albeit in a few unorthodox ways. If you are an app user and still happen to have a token through Falcon Pro, you can use the 2.0.4 version of the app. If you don’t— there’s a hidden way to log on from within the app, so you can still get in on the Falcon party anyways. After multiple rumors swirled around the web, Korean publications confirmed today that both the LG Optimus G2 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 would feature 3GB RAM, the first devices to do so on the market. The high specs will allow the devices to handle multitasking much better without any hiccups, boosting performance by a pretty hefty amount. Both devices are rumored to feature Snapdragon 800 processors, so these devices will certainly be competing against one another on the market. With all the buzz that the Galaxy S 4 isn’t selling so well, news comes out of Korea that Samsung has shipped 20 million units. How does this compare to the Galaxy S III? It took 100 days for the Galaxy S III to hit the same milestone. The Galaxy S 4 achieved this same goal in 68 days. This is pretty darn good, but unfortunately investors still might think this improvement is not enough. Time will tell, but one thing you can’t argue is the fact that the Galaxy S 4 is the fastest selling Android phone ever. source: SamMobile

Since the official announcement of Google Glass and its wide spread over social media and the internet, many questions have been raised concerning the device, what it does, what it’s meant to do, and what it will do in the future. Google hopes to quell some of these concerns through a new FAQ page on their Google Glass site, focusing on some of these issues and explaining what exactly they’re trying to do with this extensive project. Specifically, Google mentions app policies, privacy concerns, and even technology addiction. Redbox Instant was quietly updated with a very important feature if you are rooted. You can now stream to your heart’s content, even if you’re rooted. This update brings it to version 1.2 and among the usual bug fixes, the changelog states, ”We changed the way we handle rooted devices”.
