Only a few days after seeing the first alleged details about the LG G Pad tablet hit the web, a new report seems to confirm what was previously said about the device.

The Korea Herald is the publication that comes forward with G Pad information from unnamed sources familiar with the matter.

Apparently, LG plans to start G Pad production next month, with a 500 prototype trial run. After that, the company is expected to make between 100,000 and 200,000 units per month, depending on demand for the tablet.

The G Pad is expected to be unveiled in a few weeks at the IFA 2013 trade show, although LG is yet to send out invites for any IFA press events.

The tablet is said to sport an 8.3-inch display – a rather unusual size choice considering what we've seen so far when it comes to tablet sizes – with full HD resolution (1920 x 1200), a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM.

A few days ago, a Greek website first mentioned the device, alongside with hardware details, including the same ones revealed by the Korean newspaper.

Considering the rumored size of the G Pad, we would expect it to compete against the Nexus 7, iPad mini, the Kindle Fire HD and the Galaxy Note 8.0, to name just a few of the existing tablets out there. But we have no idea how the device will be priced yet.

Anyone excited about an LG G Pad tablet?
