As the only carrier currently allowed to utilize MotoMaker, we expected AT&T to take the lead in releasing details about the availability of the Moto X. This morning, the company did just that. The Moto X will be available in black and white on August 23. Consumers will then be able to start customizing through MotoMaker, which will get the phone to them in four days or so after they place their order. If you registered to find out when the Moto X would become available, you could be one of a lucky few selected by AT&T to have a chance to design your Moto X on August 19 and receive it before anybody else on AT&T gets one.
As for pricing, the 16GB model will go for $199 and the 32GB model will go for $249, both on a two-year contract of course. With AT&T Next, the 16GB model will be $27 per month and the 32GB model will be $32 per month. AT&T will also sell the Motorola Skip as an accessory. Just like Motorola said, the Skip will be free with any customized Moto X for a limited time.
AT&T will also have what it’s calling “Experience Tables” in many AT&T stores that are meant to show customers what the customization could look like with the Moto X. Essentially, AT&T will have a couple of Moto X phones and some backplate options, so customers can see what they look like in real life before ordering through MotoMaker. Beginning Aug. 23, you can pick up the new Moto X from AT&T* or be the first to create your customized Moto X online. The customizable version of Moto X is the first smartphone designed by you, assembled in the USA and available only for AT&T. To see more Moto X features in action, check out this video.
At launch, customers can begin their Moto X customization at AT&T stores and through www.att.com/MotoX. Visit your nearest store** to see physical color samples before making your purchase. Woven white and woven black models will also be available.

Accent colors for the power key, volume key and camera ring
Adding your name or short message on the back of the phone

Once you've designed and purchased your custom device, it will be assembled in the USA and shipped to you for free in four days or less**** with no hassle returns.
The Moto X runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), and features a 4.7-inch HD display. Other device highlights include:
