Egomotion Corp has released an update to their popular app NFC Task Launcher, including a new name for the app. Going by Trigger, the app now supports multiple triggers for each task and conditions can now be set for each trigger. We have seen an increase in apps that try to make smartphones more aware of their surroundings and configuring themselves to be ready for a user’s input based on the context. Trigger takes that concept to the level of actually changing settings or launching apps based on a trigger.

In the free version of the app, triggers include NFC tags, detection of Bluetooth signals, and WiFi networks. An upgrade to the Pro version enables triggers based on battery level, location and time. Based on a specific trigger, users can configure their device to perform a variety of actions including changing settings or launching specific apps. For example, when your vehicle’s Bluetooth is detected, your smartphone can be setup to launch your GPS navigation app and your music player.

Along with the new name, Trigger comes with a slightly refreshed user interface to liven things up a bit and make it work a little bit better on tablet devices. Check out some screenshots below and then hit the download link to grab the Trigger app.
