| T-Mobile Simple Choice plans arrive for business customers Aug 21st 2013, 19:47, by Robert Nelson T-Mobile began the UNcarrier approach back in March. At the time they announced Simple Choice plans for individuals. Those same plans then came available for families in mid-July and as of today they are available for business users. T-Mobile is pushing these plans as being able to provide customers with “more flexibility and choice about how they buy and use wireless devices.” 
With that in mind, T-Mobile has a few options available including the Simple Choice for Business and the Simple Choice Classic. There is also a mobile broadband offering for those who want just the data. The mobile broadband plans range from 500MB of data on the low side to 12.5GB of data on the high side. The pricing will vary from option to option, however the Simple Choice Classic plans begin at $40. That price includes unlimited talk, text and data with 500MB of that being high-speed. The price then goes up to $70 per month which includes unlimited high-speed data. T-Mobile has said the Classic option will be good for “business customers who prefer to bundle device and service fees into their monthly plan.” Shifting over to the Simple Choice for Business options and we are looking at what is being described as a good option for the business with a bring-your-own-device (BYOD) program in place. This is set up for the business with more than five lines of service and is similar to the Simple Choice option for individuals in that you will not have any long-term agreements to deal with. Basically all that needs to be determined is how many lines of service are needed and how much data is needed. T-Mobile has said prices range from $20 for unlimited talk, text and 500MB of high-speed data to $50 for unlimited high-speed data. And as we have seen with other Simple Choice plans, these for business come with no caps and no overages. These plans will all be available beginning on August 26th and details can be found on the T-Mobile.com/business website or by talking to your business sales rep. SOURCE: T-Mobile |  | Motorola DROID Mini now shipping from Verizon, hits stores tomorrow Aug 21st 2013, 19:30, by Cory Gunther Back in July the folks from Motorola announced a trio of smartphones. Those being the new DROID ULTRA, MAXX with 48 hours of battery life, and the small yet powerful DROID Mini that replaces the DROID M from last year. The first two launched earlier this week on the 20th, and now we’re hearing reports the Mini is already shipping, and can confirm it will be in stores tomorrow. 
When Motorola announced all three devices they let it be known that August 20th was the release date for the ULTRA smartphones, then later we learned the DROID Mini could have to wait until the 29th. Recently however the official Verizon page for the DROID Mini has changed, and they’ve moved up the date along with the Verizon HTC One. Verizon’s online store, as you can see above, has the 4.3-inch DROID Mini listed as “will ship by August 22nd” which is tomorrow for those not paying attention. We have been focusing on the ULTRA, but the Mini is pretty impressive too and comes in a smaller package for those who don’t want a massive 5-inch smartphone. We’ve received a few tips that users have already received shipping notices for the Mini, and they could arrive as soon as tomorrow. 
As a refresher, the DROID Mini rocks a 4.3-inch edge-to-edge 720p HD display, the same Motorola X8 computing processor as the DROID ULTRA and Moto X, which is a dual-core Snapdragon chip. It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It’s every bit a DROID, only in a smaller package. With the same 10 megapixel camera and neat hands-free software features the Mini might be a good choice for those wanting a smaller device. It appears they have already started shipping, and we’ve confirmed with Verizon they’ll officially be in stores starting tomorrow. Who’s getting the Mini? Details on this update bring talk of reminders, a new navigation drawer and images. The reminder options are time and location based and just in case you aren’t ready to complete that task just yet — there is also the option to snooze it for the time being. 
Setting a reminder is a simple process. You tap the “Remind Me” button found towards the bottom of the note. From here you choose which type of reminder you want to set — time or location based. The time-based reminders allow the user to set a specific date and time or a more general time such as “tomorrow morning.” The location-based reminders will allow the user to pick a specific place. In this case you start typing and the app will offer suggestions of nearby places based on what you are typing. Alternatively, the option to snooze is as simple as picking when you want to be re-reminded. In this case you can snooze for one hour or opt for the “remind later” option and get something based more on your needs. 
The navigation drawer is a one-stop location to access all of your notes. The navigation comes in from the left-side and allows the user to view the notes as well as the archive and any currently outstanding reminders. Users will also be able to switch between accounts from the navigation drawer. Images can be attached to any note by tapping the camera icon. Once tapped you will have the option to take a new photo or choose one from the gallery. With that, Google Keep is available by way of the Play Store — but remember, this is a staged rollout so you may or may not see the updated release immediately. Aside from Android, Google Keep is also available for Chrome by way of the Chrome Web Store. SOURCE: Official Android Blog | | LG exec confirms G Pad tablet, smartwatch, flexible display devices and more Aug 21st 2013, 18:21, by Cory Gunther This week we’ve learned about a rather large chunk of LG‘s plans for the rest of the year and early 2014, and some of it should have many of you Android fans quite excited. According to an exec out of LG Bulgaria, LG plans to have a tablet later this year, a smartwatch, bigger phablets, and even flexible display devices early next year. This one is a whopper. 
The details come by way of an LG exec named Dimitar Valev, who answered tons of questions for a local paper in an interview revealing a slew of their plans. At least according to PhoneArena. 2013 will be the year they release another tablet. First off this isn’t the first time we’ve heard reports of a tablet coming this year, after they’ve left that market alone following failed attempts in the past. It’ll likely match the LG G2, and is reportedly being called the LG G Pad. Valev didn’t confirm a name, but confirmed it was coming this year. So take it as you will. He then got into talks of more smartphones, bigger phablets (like the LG Vu III) and more for next year. 
Next year LG will launch a smartwatch, which makes us wonder if they’ll have anything this year on that front. The device will launch initially in the US, if his report is correct, and we’ll also see their Samsung-rivaling flexible display technology. Possibly in said smartwatch. He ends by talking a little about Windows Phone and Firefox OS, but we all know their main focus lately has been all about Android. LG’s been bringing their A-game with the Nexus 4, G2, and rumored Nexus 5, and things are likely to continue well into 2014. VIA: Dnevnik | |
