| Samsung SM-P905 12.2-inch tablet taking shape, spotted at FCC and Bluetooth SIG Nov 1st 2013, 01:12, by Juan Carlos Torres There has been talk lately within the display manufacturing industry that some tablet makers are looking towards putting out devices with 12-inch or larger screens in order to differentiate themselves from an over-saturated 7- and 10-inch tablet market. It seems that there is some credence to that rumor and Samsung might be the first to the scene. 
The Korean manufacturer has lately been trying, somewhat desperately, to come out as first with new kinds of devices, such as the Galaxy Gear smartwatch and the Galaxy Round curved smartphone. It is no surprise then that it would once again try to beat out the competition by being the first to out a larger than normal Android tablet. Earlier this week, such a tablet, with the model number SM-P905V, made its way to the Bluetooth SIG. While that didn’t give us much of a clue about the device, other than its North American geographic availability, this new certification does. Seen at the FCC was a filing for a Samsung tablet, this time with a plain model number of SM-P905. The documents reveal a tablet with a diagonal size of 14.1 inches, which suggests a 12.1 inch display. Diagrams also show a slot for a stylus, which could mean that this tablet will be inducted into Samsung’s Galaxy Note S Pen line. These confirm that specs that were also sighted on AnTuTu for the SM-P905 that revealed a resolution of 1600×2560 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of internal storage. These appearances in various certification and benchmark sites doesn’t mean that this overgrown Galaxy Note will be having an official unveiling any time soon, so don’t hold your breath if you’re one of those interested in the device. But while the smartphone touts specs that, by now, sound a wee bit common among high-end Android smartphones, one piece of its hardware, its camera, deserves a special mention. 
Mobile photography has become quite a phenomenon ever since smartphone cameras started to cross the megapixel threshold, lately even to two-digit sizes. Of course, megapixel count isn’t the only factor that determines a camera’s ability to produce quality images and videos, and so we see smartphones that brag about other features near and dear to photographers’ hearts. Of late, it seems that the distinction of having one of the best smartphone cameras has been bequeathed to the new iPhone 5s. But now it may be facing a new rival. The newly announced Nexus 5′s camera features are definitely something worth talking about. It may not have the double-digit megapixel count that the Sony Xperia Z1 or the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 have, sporting only 8 megapixels like the iPhone 5s. It does hover, include Optical Image Stabilizatin (OIS), one of the most desired features in smartphone cameras which a lot of models don’t posses. The Nexus 5 also boasts of an HDR+ mode that is quite useful for taking rapid bursts shots. And oon the software side, there is, of course, Photo Sphere that takes advantage of the camera’s features to produce high-quality 360-degree photos. Now that the Nexus 5 is official, photos demonstrating its camera’s capabilities have started returning to the Internet, particularly on Google+. A few caveat about these images must be noted. These photos were not taken at the camera’s full resolution and it is unknown whether the social networking service’s Auto Awesome feature applied some edits to the photos before they were posted. Nonetheless, the images still show remarkable outdoor and indoor quality that puts the Nexus 5 near if not right at the top of the camera smartphone list. Released via the Google blog, the Android scene quickly ramped into an all-out frenzy over the newest flagship device and Android iteration from Google. With so much to take in, let's recap the days events as they relate to all things Google. 
- Announced via the Google blog, and co-launched via the Android blog, Android 4.4 and the Nexus 5 became a reality. While not necessarily surprising, they were official, and that's all we've been asking for.
- If accessories are your thing, the Nexus 5 doesn't disappoint. LG released a QuickCover for the Nexus 5, bringing OEM accessory support to Nexus like we've never seen. There was also the familiar bumper case for the Nexus 5, if that's your thing.
- Curious if your Nexus device is getting Android 4.4? Unless you have a Galaxy Nexus, you're in luck. Google detailed the rollout for Android 4.4, and the Galaxy Nexus — with it's carrier hangups — won't be seeing the update. Time to retire an old friend, GNex owners.
- Those without Nexus devices may be getting the update as well. HTC committed to updating their One lineup, while the Motorola website notes quite a few of their devices will get the bump.
- Android is slimmed down, and ready for all kinds of devices. How did google accomplish that? We take a look at the new way Android accesses and treats memory. Developers now have a lot more tools to make great apps that work across devices.
- T-Mobile has always been a decent launch partner for Google and the Nexus, carrying the Nexus 4 a few days after launch. If you didn't get an order in, they could be your best bet for grabbing a Nexus 5. Verizon customers, you're not so fortunate. You won't be getting the Nexus 5 at all.

- Hangouts was recently updated, and it's coming to the Nexus 5. Those who are getting the new Nexus flagship device will get Hangouts v2.0, replete with SMS. Unfortunately, it won't work with Google Voice for a while.
- Google Wallet is seeing changes, and Android 4.4 takes full advantage. With so much swirling around Wallet and NFC, just how is Google taking advantage? By stepping aside.
- The Nexus 5 sold out pretty quickly, with the 16GB selling out before the 32GB. If you were quick enough to slip an order in, it may have shipped already! Google really has their game face on this year.
