MotoMaker likely heading to Verizon on November 11

AT&T_Moto_MakerAccording to frequent leaker @evleaks, MotoMaker for the Moto X will drop its exclusivity with AT&T next month. He says that Verizon will join MotoMaker on November 11. Since launching the device in August, Motorola says it has been shipping about 100,000 of them every week. With Verizon coming into the mix, Motorola will likely face a higher demand from customers on the nation’s second-largest network. If you’re on Verizon, are you interested in using MotoMaker to build your own device?

Android World Update # Google, Cisco, and SAP may be placing bids on BlackBerry

Google, Cisco, and SAP may be placing bids on BlackBerry
Oct 6th 2013, 01:02, by Justin Herrick

blackberry_android

According to Reuters, BlackBerry could be selling off either parts of itself or the company as a whole to another tech giant. Among the known companies discussing bids are Google, Cisco, and SAP. Intentions from the three are quite clear. Cisco and SAP would want to absorb BlackBerry for its enterprise assets. With BlackBerry’s market share is shrinking quickly, it would be wise for them to sell before things get worse.

Google could be looking toward making Android more business-friendly. After turning Motorola into a manufacturer for a more general audience, Google may want to absorb another company to lean into the enterprise crowd. BlackBerry has just as much brand recognition as Motorola; therefore, Google’s strategy could be converting struggling, already known brands into one that slows down its production to focus on core products.

Android World Update # ComScore numbers for August shows a slight dip in Android while Apple and Samsung see growth

ComScore numbers for August shows a slight dip in Android while Apple and Samsung see growth
Oct 5th 2013, 19:44, by Justin Herrick

OSShareAug2013

After holding steady in June’s comScore numbers, Android saw a slight dip in August. While a dip would normally be unsettling, Android still holds more than 50% of the mobile platform market share. Apple, however, did see growth with iOS even though their new devices had yet to launch until recently. Microsoft, who has reportedly talked to HTC about dual booting Windows Phone with Android, saw a slight jump and is nearly the number three operating system. Hit the break for information on manufacturer market share.

On the OEM side, Apple and Samsung both saw growth; however, Apple still holds first place. Motorola saw a slight decline, although that should change since they’re shipping 100,000 Moto X devices a week. HTC, who’s in the middle of an identity crisis, also found itself with a drop. The next round of comScore numbers should be interesting suggesting it would account of the manufacturer’s new devices.

Gameloft's Modern Combat 5 to be delayed until 2014
Oct 6th 2013, 01:22, by Jeff Causey

modern_combat_5_screenshot

Using their Twitter account, Gameloft has announced Modern Combat 5, the next in the franchise, is being delayed until sometime in 2014. Gameloft released the first teaser for Modern Combat 5 back in June and it was hoped that meant a release before the end of the year, especially in light of Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour being released in December 2012. While fans of the franchise will be disappointed with having to wait more than a year for the next title. if Gameloft does things right they may be able to duplicate the success of other popular titles like Grand Theft Auto that also follow extended breaks between titles. The screenshot above, included in the Twitter posting, appears to be highly detailed. Hopefully game play will match any graphics excellence.

Today pictures of the Sony Xperia Z1 f leaked in a brochure that is making rounds on the internet. Along with it we see black, white, pink, lime, and purple as the color choices. On the inside it'll have a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 20.7MP rear camera, 2.2MP front camera, and a dust and water resistant body to protect it. Cut The Rope 2 to be released by Zeptolabs in time for the holiday season

Fans of Cut The Rope have something new to look forward to this holiday season, an official sequel to the game from Zeptolabs. While some spin-offs have been produced, the official sequel will be Cut The Rope 2. It will feature new characters, probably joining the monster named Om Nom from the original title, as well as improvements to gameplay, new interactive environments and a new storyline.

Zeptolabs also indicates a second season of animated shorts based on Om Nom, call Om Nom Stories, will be relased in conjunction with the new title. While we do not have an exact date, the wait should not be long as the holiday season is almost upon us.
