T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G is around the corner

Posted: 09 Aug 2012 01:57 PM PDT

It's on the streets from a long time that T-Mobile is planning to launch a Samsung Android powered phone with specs almost good enough to blow your mind, and we got a name for it a month ago. Yes, I am talking about the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G, an Android powered device that's headed to T-Mobile, and today, there's also a press shot to show that it's around the corner. Our friend over at Tmo-News are confirming that T-Mobile will officially launch it on August 15, so it means we will see it soon so you probably start saving some money if you want to get your hands on it.

However, it's rumoured that it will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, 720p HD display, 1080p rear video capture, HSPA+ 42Mbps, and a sliding QWERTY keyboard. Just don't take these rumoured specs for granted, and I will suggest you to wait till next month, because T-Mobile will clear the air.

Well, are you planning to grab the Blaze 4G from T-Mobile? Tell us about it in the comment box below.

This Android Lego project needs your support

Posted: 09 Aug 2012 10:08 AM PDT

If you follow the Android space closely then chances are good you've come across the Lego Cuusoo Android Project these past few days.  If you haven't then let us give you a quick primer: You need this in your office, bedroom, dorm, etc.  It, like Reese's Peanut Butter and Chocolate, is a match made in heaven.

Marc Young created a mockup Android/Bugdroid character using Lego's Digital Designer and then later turned it into a kit (200+ pieces) for himself.  Now he wants to turn this into an officially supported Lego project.  But he needs your help.

I am trying to get 10,000 supporters in order to get consideration for Lego to make this model I designed as a set.  There seems to be a lot of buzz about it in the Android community on Google+ but that has slowed to a trickle in the last day.  I'm hoping that more media coverage will help spark more supporters for this project.

How do you help?

Essentially, you just need to give it your approval and say, "Yeah, I would like that."  It doesn't cost you a penny to pledge support, however it does ask you how much you'd be willing to pay for it.  Marc estimates that it would run about $30, but might actually be less.  The current tally is just under 3,500 but needs to get to 10,000 before it goes any further.

Head to LEGO CUUSOO and show your support for this project.  It takes less than five minutes and won't cost any money.  Until it becomes reality and you buy some for your besties.

Lookout redesigns mobile web experience

Posted: 09 Aug 2012 09:05 AM PDT

Lookout has completely redesigned their mobile site, making it even easier than ever to manage your account and valuable Android devices.  Realizing that most users will typically hunt down a lost device from another mobile phone or tablet, Lookout has simplified the website with a more clean and intuitive layout.

Log into your account at mylookout.com from any phone or tablet and you'll be able to do all sort of wonderful things, including contact management, locate lost devices, and remote lock and wipe.  In fact, you can even access your phone as if it was never lost or stolen and pull up photos and contacts.  Lookout promises even more changes are in order and that we should keep an eye on their blog.

  • Pinpoint your missing phone's location on a Google map
  • Make your phone "Scream." Sound a loud alarm even if it is on silent or vibrate mode
  • View the recent photos you've taken from your phone that Lookout has saved for you.
  • If you forget your phone at home, log into Lookout from a friend's phone and access your entire Google contact list. You can even directly call a friend on your contact list from the mobile website, and let him know you left your phone at home.
  • If you suspect your phone's been stolen, Lock or Wipe it from a friend's phone quickly so that no one else can access the data on your phone.

Press-ready images of Xperia tablet hit the net

Posted: 09 Aug 2012 08:10 AM PDT

A few new photos of the upcoming Xperia tablet have arrived online ahead of its expected IFA debut.  We can plainly see that Sony scrapped the wedge-like design of the tablet in favor of a more traditional design with a slight lift at the top.  We're digging the color choices and the general aesthetic of the Xperia tablet and can't wait to see one of these in the real world. Now, about that bezel around the display...
