T-Mobile kicks off Unlimited Holiday Cheer campaign

T-Mobile wants you to have a cheerful holiday season. How do we know? Because they just kicked off a new Unlimited Cheer campaign which sees them giving away Galaxy Note II’s and Galaxy S IIIs, that’s how.

This holiday season, T-Mobile will embark on a nationwide journey dashing across the U.S. from Seattle to Chicago to New York and more to give 'Unlimited Cheer' to some lucky fans.

Google Now updated with travel-minded features

A new version of Google Now (Google Search) has arrived in Google Play, just in time to put the finishing touches on your holiday travel plans. As detailed on the official Android blog, the update makes it easier to prepare for road trips and flights.

Before you even leave your house, Google Now will tell you what the weather will be like at your destination. At the airport, your boarding pass is automatically pulled up, helping you breeze through to the gate. And once you’ve arrived at your destination, Google Now can help you uncover some great activities, by showing you events happening around you, suggesting websites for you to explore as you research things to do..

Of course, this isn’t everything that Google Now does for folks

HTC pinning comeback hopes on 2013 flagship, the ‘M7′

After a less-than-stellar 2011 and 2012, HTC is looking for a return to the top of the Android mountain. To do so, the Quietly Brilliant company is going to have get a little noisy in the coming year.

Samsung and other handset makers have been slowly eroding HTC’s grip on the market and 2013 could be a slippery slope.  Failure to make an impact over the next few months could really spell disaster for HTC. What to do?  Pin your comeback hopes on a new device going under the codename of ‘M7′

Verizon celebrates two years of 4G LTE

Verizon Wireless is celebrating two years of 4G LTE today as December 5 marks the monumental anniversary. It’s hard to believe, but it has been 24 months since Verizon kicked off the whole “Rule the Air” campaign. Ok, so maybe the ads didn’t really hit until later, but there’s no doubt that they’ve been ruling the air.

As part of the announcement today, Verizon has put together some key figures centered around the 4G LTE network and its coverage across the United States.

Redbox Instant by Verizon pushed to spring 2013

Sorry to rain on your parade today, but it looks like the Redbox Instant by Verizon streaming service won’t be arriving in the next few weeks. Instead, the would-be Netflix-killer is now targeted for spring of next year, according to GigaOm. It’s not all bad news, however, as a public beta is slated for launch later this month. T-Mobile to adjust insurance rates for handset in 2013

T-Mobile will adjust the deductible for insured cell phones in 2013, according to new details uncovered by Phandroid. The monthly rates will stay the same for devices and T-Mobile will also introduce a new Tier E for products when the changes take effect March 17.

Sony announces entry-level Xperia E for early 2013

Sony today unwrapped its latest Android smartphone, the Xperia E, putting it on the calendar for early next year. Available in single SIM and dual-SIM (Xperia E dual), the phone is an entry-level device with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Hardware details include a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, 3.5-inch (320 x 480 pixels) display, 3.2-megapixel camera

Amazon introduces all-you-can-eat Kindle FreeTime Unlimited
