LG G2 teaser video

Ah – the LG D801, there's a blast from the past! You might not remember, but a long time ago (okay, actually it was just back in March..), we reported on a benchmark sighting for a mysterious handset by the name of the D801. At the time we knew little about this little guy, other than it seemed to possess an impressive Snapdragon 800 CPU.

Fast-forwarding to today, the D801 has made yet another appearance, this time as it passed through the FCC.

According to the filing, the D801 comes with LTE bands 4 and 17, making it the perfect match for AT&T. Considering the LG G2's official unveil is just around the corner now, it's a safe bet that the D801 is in fact the AT&T version of the G2.

Adding further credence to the claim, a sketch included with the FCC filing shows off a handset that has the same backside volume buttons that have been teased for the G2.

Still, until LG confirms it, its always wise to approach this kind of rumor with a little bit of skepticism.

If this does prove to be the LG G2, you not only expect a Snapdragon 800 processor as previously hinted for the D801, but also a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and a 2,700 mAh battery.

So how about it, anyone excited to get their hands on the AT&T version of the LG G2?
