New Nexus 7 - Best Buy

Despite not having been officially announced by Google yet, the new Nexus 7 can be pre-ordered from Best Buy, with the retailer also confirming the Android version found on the new tablet.

Google will most likely unveil the new Nexus 7 tablet alongside Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and other products at its special media event later today, but meanwhile we have specs and an image gallery for the tablet available from Best Buy.

The retailer has both the 16GB and 32GB versions of the tablet listed in its online store, and they're selling for $229.99 and $269.99, respectively, but Best Buy isn't saying when they'll ship. A previous leak suggested the retailer will start selling on July 30.

Here are the specs and features of the device, as listed by Best Buy:

  • Profile: 7.62mm (0.3-inch)
  • Weight: 318g (11.2oz)
  • 7-inch LCD IPS display with 1920 x 1200 resolution
  • 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor
  • Adreno 320 graphics
  • 2GB of DDR3LM memory
  • 16/32GB of memory
  • 5-megapixel camera
  • 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • MicroUSB port with SlimPort
  • Android 4.3 Jelly Bean

We're certainly not surprised to see Best Buy basically confirm existing new Nexus 7 hardware rumors, so all we have to do now is wait for Google to also officially introduce the tablet.

However, we still have no idea when the 4G LTE version of the tablet will be available to order from Best Buy.

In addition to Best Buy, we expect the new Nexus 7 to start selling with other retailers soon, including Staples and OfficeMax – the latter has already shipped at least one Nexus 7 unit ahead of time.
