An image surfaced on Monday that allegedly shows an HP smartphone. This discovery is timely as we reported at the beginning of the month an official with HP hinted the company was working on a smartphone. Now would be a good time for a company like HP to try to expand their market lines given the ongoing contraction in the PC market. No details regarding possible specs were available.
This would not be the first time HP has come close to releasing a smartphone device. Last year an HP Android-based smartphone was discovered on GLBenchmark, only to disappear. In 2011 HP had plans to launch the webOS powered HP Pre3 in the U.S., but canceled those plans after a short European launch.
