We already know that Sony’s next beast of a device is gonna have some awesome specs, but we are starting to get some critical deets for one of the most important parts of the smartphone— it’s awesome camera. While we know the i1 will probably have a 20MP camera, it will likely have a smaller-than-expected sensor compared to say… the Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone. Rumor has it that the sensor will “only” come in at 1/2.3″ in total size, compared to 2/3″ that was previously expected. Despite the smaller sensor, the camera will still be topnotch as the 20MP cam will have a f/2.0 with 5mm focal length and utilize the BIONZ processing engine, which effectively allows the camera to take photos with a resolution of up to 5248 x 3936 pixels.

Of course this is all speculation, but it finally appears that we’re starting to get a better idea of what to expect when Sony unleashes its next flagship in only a matter of months from now.
