A fresh alleged camera sample image apparently taken with the Sony Honami has been spotted online, confirming that the device will indeed pack a 20-megapixel shooter, as previously rumored.
The image itself isn't groundbreaking – we're looking at a bike in this one – but we're interested in the EXIF data which reveals more interesting details about the device that took the photo.
Assuming that the data hasn't been tampered with, we learn that the picture was taken on August 10 by a certain Taylor Li with a C6902 device whose camera is made by Sony and has a resolution of 5248 x 3936 (or 20.65-megapixel), a 4:3 aspect ratio and f/2.0 aperture.
The C6902 is believed to be the Sony Honami (rumored product name for the device is Xperia i1), with the device having received GCF certification on August 9. For what it's worth, the Honami has also received FCC certification.
The Sony Honami is expected to be the next-gen 5-inch Sony flagship smartphone, which will be unveiled during a special media event on September 4 – on the same date, the Galaxy Note 3 from Samsung will also become official.
In addition to the already mentioned 5-inch Full HD display and 20.7-megapixel camera with Sony G lens and BIONZ Image processing engine, the Sony Honami is also rumored to be waterproof and dustproof, and offer a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 3000mAh battery and Android Jelly Bean.
