LG is said to be working on a new Android tablet family of its own, with the Bluetooth SIG apparently revealing the codenames of two devices part of the rumored new line of tablets.

The LG-V500 and LG-V507L are the models that have recently received Bluetooth certification, but there aren't that many details available about them at this time. We don't even have a commercial name for them yet.

The two devices appear to be part of LG's family of tablets – the 2011 LG Optimus Pad had model number LG-V900 – although it's not clear what kind of tablets we're looking at.

Another hint that these are tablets comes from the Bluetooth SIG. TechKiddy points out that the interest group lists them as "mobile devices" instead of phones, which is what other LG smartphones are described in their respective Bluetooth SIG documentations.

Moreover, this isn't the first time we hear about LG working on new tablets. In late May, an LG executive revealed that the company is working on a tablet of its own, with a report saying that the device is expected to be unveiled this year. Furthermore, an analyst suggested a few days after Google unveiled its latest tablet that LG could make the 2014 Nexus 7 model, a rather wild prediction for the time being.

Is LG ready to return to the tablet business after a not-so-successful run so far? Word on the street is that the new tablet versions will be unveiled at IFA 2013. Considering the plethora of budget tablets out there, with the new Nexus 7 being the leader of the pack, we're certainly interested to see what a new LG tablet would have to offer.
