If you have DirecTV and are a subscriber of NFL Sunday Ticket, or you’re one of the lucky ones that ordered Madden 25 on Amazon, you can use DirecTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket app for Android to watch almost every game though the whole regular season. The updated version for this year adds a completely refreshed user interface, real-time highlight alerts, the ability to track your NFL.com fantasy team live, and Short Cuts – a feature that allows you to watch replays of entire games in 30 minutes on your phone or tablet.

This is a tried and tested app that isn’t just for football. ESPN ScoreCenter will provide you with the latest news as it breaks for your favorite teams as well as the whole NFL and sports world. The “Worldwide Leader in Sports” updated the design and UI of their great app late last year, and it really is a must-have for any sports fan, let alone NFL fan.

When it’s NFL season, you can’t get enough of football. That means news, rumors, and even games. The best NFL based Android game out there is NFL Pro 2013. It’s available in the Play Store, and features incredible graphics, play-by-play replays, and a really cool first-person camera view to put yourself in the game. NFL TNF Xtra
Since NFL Network started broadcasting Thursday night games, it’s become a weekly ordeal. With their NFL TNF Xtra app, you can get an even better experience. Pairing it with your television, you can get live and exclusive sideline video reporting from the game as it happens via the app. In addition, you can tweet questions to the sideline reporter, get unique player content, and share your opinions socially.

NBC Sports Talk
We’ve already told you the best apps to get your essentials like scores, standings, stats, and news, but rumors are incredibly important too. They tell you the news before it breaks. Pro Football Talk, part of the NBC Sports Talk network, is the best at NFL rumors. They have articles all day every day, and will surely give you all the news you need and more. Their Android app is very nicely designed, Pulse-style, and allows you to read articles as well as access them offline.
