Fingerprint-based mobile payment service lands on Android
Oct 2nd 2013, 19:09, by Asad Rafi

Fingerprint sensor on a smartphone is becoming a trend and probably soon, all major companies will prefer launching their flagship smartphone with a fingerprint scanner in it, like HTC is preparing the One Max. Recently, Pantech launched the Vega LTE-A in South Korea, which is a high-end Android powered phone with a fingerprint sensor on its back. But how about making your payments using the fingerprint sensor on the phone, interesting?

The Korea Herald is reporting that mobile payment service provider Danal and a fingerprint technology developer Crucialtec, together launched the world's first fingerprint-based mobile payment service. The service is limited to South Korea right now, and it can be used by downloading an app known as BarTong on your Pantech Vega LTE-A.

They are also planning to bring the payment service to United States and China. This new method will give users more security, a Danal official said.

Well folks, do you think this will be a good way to make payment? what are your thoughts on it? Tell us about it in the comment box below.
