HBO Google Play Store

Google on Monday announced that Android users will be able to download various HBO shows from Google Play.

Seven popular HBO shows will be initially available from the Google Play Store initially, but Google plans to bring more HBO original programing including "series, films, documentaries and more" in the coming months.

An HBO Go subscription is not required to access the shows, which means non-HBO subscribers will certainly be happy to see some of these shows up in the Google Play Store – although they’ll have to pay for each episode/season of their favorite shows.

The list of available HBO shows includes Game of Thrones, The Newsroom, Girls, Boardwalk Empire, Veep, True Blood and The Wire.

Standard definition episodes cost between $1.99 and $2.99, while high definition episodes will cost a dollar more. Full seasons are also available, with prices varying from $19 to $29 for a full season of your chosen TV series.

What HBO shows are you looking forward to buying?
