Android 4.4 KitKat may be official, but unless you have a newer Nexus device you will likely find yourself waiting months or more to officially get your hands on Google's sweetest new treat.

For those that don't mind going the 'unofficial' route, Android 4.4 KitKat ROMs already exist for the Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and even the Verizon and GSM variants of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Now it looks like we can add three more devices to the list: the GSM HTC One, the Sony Xperia Z and the Sprint (Toro Plus) version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

HTC has already revealed that they hope to push out Android 4.4 KitKat quickly, but if you want it now, Stephen Bird has now released a fully working AOSP-based KitKat ROM that will run on the AT&T, T-Mobile and international versions of the handset. According to Bird, the ROM uses binaries from the One's Android 4.3 update but performs very stably (for an early build). The only feature that appears to not be working is the IR blaster.

Thanks to the efforts of XDA Senior Member pabx, the Sony Xperia Z also is getting some Android 4.4 KitKat love. The ROM is a pure AOSP build, with neither recovery or root. While the ROM's developer says there are a few minor bugs, the ROM is reportedly quite stable with all the phone's core features working.

And then we have the Sprint Galaxy Nexus. This is last version of the Galaxy Nexus to get a taste of KitKat, this time thanks to XDA Senior Member nolinuxnoparty. Like the other two ROMs listed above, this build is essentially pure AOSP, with a few minor modifications made in order to get it working.

While most of the Sprint Galaxy Nexus' functions seem to work fine, it's important to note that the camera isn’t working, and that there are some small graphical glitches and a some GPS issues. In other words, the build isn’t quite perfect yet, and probably isn't appropriate for folks that still use the G Nexus as their daily driver.

For more details on the HTC ROM you'll want to head to the Rootz Wiki. For the Xperia Z and Sprint Galaxy Nexus ROMs, more info can be found via the XDA Developer's Forums.

Anyone rocking any of three above mentioned ROMs, if so – what’s your experience been like so far?
