APPTEASERS is a collection of apps and games that are new to Android, recently updated, discounted, etc. Whatever the case, we think they’re worth exploring and are willing to bet that many of you would enjoy a few of them.

We understand that we won’t get every single app that crosses our path but we hope to filter things a bit and pass them along to you, dear reader. What you’ll find below is a quick plug for apps and games, occasionally using the developer’s own words to describe the title.

Note that this column is not intended to be a list of “must have” apps but more of a random assortment of titles you might not already know about. No, these are not always new titles. Yes, they can be from big name developers and little indie teams as well.

Also, be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ as we showcase different apps over on our social network streams.

Snapdragon BatteryGuru

An official app for smartphones that employ Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors, it learns how you use your device and optimizes without disabling any actual functionality. No configuration needed, it figures out what to do after 2-4 days and helps extend the amount of time you get per charge.

Juice Cubes

Easy to learn, incredibly difficult to put down, this one features more than 165 levels of gorgeous and cute graphics. Set in the tropics with witches, pirates, and other fun characters, your job is to create and combine fruit bombs. Imagine if Fruit Ninja, Candy Crush Saga, and Bejeweled all had a baby together.

Grand Theft Auto: iFruit

It might have taken a few more weeks than we would have liked, but we’re glad to see Rockstar’s GTA V app come to Android. Customize your car, play with Chop, and keep up to date with the latest news in the world of Grand Theft Auto.

Smart IR Remote

Turn your Android smartphones or tablet into a remote control for your television. Works with hundreds of thousands of TVs as well as many Android devices; offers features you won’t find on a traditional remote. Among others, details include gestures, macros, and automated tasks.

Flyne. The Offline Reader

From the developers behind Falcon Pro, this app uses Twitter Lists and Feedly categories to deliver offline-ready news in real time from blogs, websites, and your contacts. Presented in a magazine-like format, it’s all the stuff that matters to you.

Kingsoft Office 5.8

Manage nearly two dozen file types from Microsoft Office with this free app with rich editing capabilities. Pull down a document to work on or save it to the cloud with Google Drive, Box, Dropbox when you’re done. Works just as nicely on small devices as it does larger ones and is compatible with Android 2.1 or later.

Facebook Messenger

Keep in touch with your Facebook friends via the standalone chat application. Includes the Chat Heads feature that was rolled out earlier in year, ensuring you don’t miss a single message. An update rolling out this week began introducing a new look for select users, hinting at the future of the overall design.

Mech Conquest

Build and battle your own Mech against players from around the globe in some of the most exotic virtual locations you’ll find. Unlock items and achievements along the way as you seek to move up the ranks in the leaderboard. Take on Facebook friends or see where you sit against Kongregate combatants; pick up some tokens for inviting new players.
