Verizon’s Galaxy Camera surfaces on Samsung website

There’s no big press release or major announcement to share with you guys, but Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Camera is official. How official, you ask?  Well, it’s on Samsung’s website right now where you can — wait, it’s gone now.  Before it was taken down, the product page showed that the Galaxy Camera offered support for Verizon’s 700Mhz 4G LTE band but no sign of 3G. While there are 440+ markets with 4G data, there are bound to be pockets where it won’t have connectivity. Perhaps we’ll get a press announcement after all..

Motorola updates Jelly Bean timetable for devices

Motorola this week adjusted its timetable for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates. The support page tells us that the Atrix HD, Electrify M and Xoom are next up for the update followed by a handful of other devices in 2013. Among those listed with tentative 4.1 updates in the coming year are the Droid 4, Droid Bionic, Droid Razr, Droid Razr Maxx, Photon Q, and Electrify 2. Your phone not on the list? Have you checked to see if you’re able to score a $100 rebate for your troubles?

Samsung intros Galaxy Muse music accessory for Galaxy devices

Samsung today announced a new music accessory for those who own Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II devices. Called the Galaxy Muse, it’s essentially a 4GB MP3 player that can pair with your smartphone via a dedicated Android app. Users get all the standard features in the Muse, including skip, shuffle, go back, and play. It’s a small unit that is designed to go places where you might not want to take your Android handset. You know, like on the treadmill.

Galaxy Muse is available in Pebble Blue and Marble White for $49.99 at Samsung.com

HTC Butterfly X920e flutters into China

HTC has today announced the Butterfly X920e for China Unicom, a variant of the same device that Verizon has with the Droid DNA. Identical to the J Butterfly (Japan), this one retails for ¥4,799 or roughly $700 USD without a contract. Specs are the same stuff you’ve seen as of late and include a 5-inch HD LCD 3 1080p display, quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, and a 2020mAh battery.  Color options include brown, red, and white

5-inch ZTE Nubia Z5 spied ahead of announcement

Not to be outdone by others, Chinese handset maker ZTE is getting in on the 5-inch smartphone game. The details and render of an upcoming Nubia Z5 have been spotted online, thanks to a leak directly from the company’s PR team. Set to arrive in China in the coming weeks, the phone may ultimately make its way to the United States as part of a Sprint or smaller carrier’s lineup

AT&T now offering $50 HTC One VX

Just a quick note to let you all know that AT&T has indeed started offering the HTC One VX as part of its smartphone lineup. The $50 Android features a 4.5-inch qHD display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal memory, and a 5-megapixel camera. Running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC Sense UI, it’s the kind of first smartphone experience that we wish we had.
