Today's the big day! Later today, the Moto X will finally have its big launch event. In the meantime, the Moto X-related Motorola Connect and Motorola Migrate are now available. If these names sound familiar to you, that's because we reported on both of these features about a week ago.

Essentially, Motorola Migrate does what it sounds like it: easily syncs settings from your old device over to an upcoming Motorola Droid or Moto X handset.

In order to get Migrate to work, you'll need Android 2.2 or higher. Once it's installed, you'll be able to log in and select text messages, call history, SIM card contacts, media and a few other settings. You then open up your new phone and the app will guide you through the transfer process.

As for Motorola Connect? This Chrome extension allows you to get read incoming calls and texts right from your desktop or laptop – provided you're using Chrome OS and/or the Chrome browser.

While many of these features are already possible to some extent with Hangouts and Google Voice, this is still pretty damn cool. Even better, you can actually respond to text messages directly from Chrome. Phone calls will still require you to hop on the phone, however.

Connect currently lists support for the Moto X and all three upcoming Motorola Droid handsets. We'd also wager that any future Motorola handsets will also add the feature, though no mention of any existing devices getting support.

What do you think of Motorola Migrate and Connect? Excited for the Moto X yet?
