Two years ago, Amazon changed the tablet game by unveiling the Kindle Fire for $199. It has already gone through one refresh and this year it gets refreshed yet again and with an even better price. The new Kindle Fire HD sports a 7-inch 1280×800 216 ppi HD display, a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, Fire OS 3.0 (Mojito), and dual speakers with Dolby audio. It will look very similar to the new HDX tablets, but a little heavier and thicker. It comes in at 12.2 ounces and 10.6mm thick.

The Kindle Fire HD starts at $139 for the for the 8GB version. The 16GB version will run you $169. Shipping will commence on October 2. Full press release after the break.
