Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 – 2014 Edition launches Oct. 10th for $550
Sep 26th 2013, 13:52, by Quentyn Kennemer

While the Samsung Galaxy Gear smart watch and Samsung Galaxy Note 3 were the stars of Samsung’s early September show in Berlin, another device — a tablet — made an appearance (and a pretty nice first impression on us). It was the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 – 2014, the latest in what has now become Samsung’s premium tablet line.

The folks from South Korea have finally announced US availability details. You can expect the Note 10.1 – 2014 Edition to launch October 10th, with Samsung beginning to accept pre-orders beginning at midnight tonight. $550 will get you the 16GB edition, while another $50 on top of that will get you 32GB. Note 10.1 – 2014 Edition will be available at a number of popular retailers to start, including Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Fry’s, PC Richards and more.

This 10.1-inch machine is Samsung’s most powerful yet in the tablet space, with a quad-core Exynos 5420 chipset and 3GB of RAM pushing this thing along. The 10.1-inch display has a roomy 2560 x 1600, which gives us a pixel density of nearly 300. That aforementioned storage can be expanded through the advent of the microSD card slot being included.

The Note 10.1 – 2014 Edition will feature Android 4.3 and some of the latest features Samsung’s been working on for their custom user interface. It’s driven by S-Pen, which will work with Samsung’s latest apps like Screen Write, S Finder, Action Memo and Scrapbook. Another big enhancement Samsung has made is the ability to run several instances of the same app, as well as moving data between apps as if you were simply copying and pasting on a desktop operating system.

This flagship tablet is at the very top of Samsung’s totem pole, and we want to know if you’re willing to climb up there to get it. Let us know if you’ll be looking to pre-order one once the clock strikes midnight in the comments section below.
