Wouldn’t it be nice if some of your essential mobile survival tools could all converge into one portable device? At least where and when it would make sense? That may indeed be the case here with Samsung‘s new LTE Mobile HotSpot PRO that has arrived on T-Mobile‘s catalog.
Make no mistake, this compact device is, first and foremost, a mobile hotspot meant for sharing the carrier’s fast 4G LTE connection with up to 10 Internet devices. It has the usual set of features such as WiFi and USB connectivity as well as a microSD slot. However, this little device is capable of doing so much more. Sporting an unknown 1.2 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM, it is almost a smartphone itself.
The first extra feature of this mobile hotspot is data sharing, taking advantage of the 4 GB of internal storage, expandable with the aforementioned microSD slot. It allows files, for example, from a digital camera, to be transferred through USB or shared with connected devices over WiFi. The 3100 mAh battery, which T-Mobile says should last up to 24 days when left on standby, not only powers the device itself but could also act as a portable charger when in a pinch. That’s three features, multi-user 4G LTE connectivity, file sharing, and mobile battery, all in one portable and lightweight square package.
The Samsung LTE Mobile HotSpot PRO also has an enticing price tag, selling on T-Mobile for a full price or $169.99. Alternatively, customers can also get it for $5 for 24 months with a $49.99 payment up front. Whichever payment option is taken, new device purchases will require an additional $10 for a SIM Starter Kit.
