Apple iPhone 5s vs Motorola Moto X aa 4

In order to make it easier for iPhone owners interested in purchasing a Moto X to move from Apple's universe to Google’s, Motorola has added a new migration tool in its Moto Maker customization website that imports iCloud contacts and calendar data into a respective Google account.

The tool requires users to enter their iCloud credentials and the Google log in details, after which the data transfer is done automatically.

Punit Soni announced on Google+ the new tool, which will be available inside MotoMaker.com, adding that "there is a long way to go, but it's a start.” The migration tool is "powered" by Mark/Space, therefore not entirely a Motorola creation.

However, The Verge notes that the service appears to be available only to new Moto X buyers that buy the smartphone via Moto Maker, so in case you already own the handset you may have to find another way to import your iPhone data – here's one of our tutorials that will help you move your contacts from iPhone to Android.

Earlier today, we heard that Consumer Reports recommended Moto's new Droids over the new iPhones, so this migration tool has arrived just in the nick of time.
