Motorola introduces Moto G with 4.5-inch 720p display, quad-core processor, $179 starting price Nov 13th 2013, 15:41, by Alex Wagner Just as expected, today Motorola took the wraps off of the Moto G, the newest member of its “Moto” family. Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside teased earlier this year that his company was planning a low-cost version of the Moto X, and that looks to be precisely what we’ve gotten today. The 8GB version of the Moto G will be sold unlocked in the US for $179, while a more capacious 16GB variant will be available for $199. So what kind of features was Motorola able to cram into the $179 Moto G? Well, it’s packing a 4.5-inch 720p display and 1.3-megapixel camera on its face. Around back is a 5-megapixel shooter. At the core of the Moto G is a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor that’s clocked at 1.2GHz, as well as 1GB RAM, either 21Mbps HSPA+ or CDMA/EVDO Rev. A connectivity and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. Moto G also features a  2070mAh battery that lives beneath a rear covers that can be replaced with one of many Motorola Shells. Motorola Shells are different types of back plates that Moto G owners can use to both personalize and protect their handset. They’ll be available in a variety of colors and offer varying levels of protection, ranging from a simple battery door to an active grip case that covers the sides and backside of the Moto G, as well as a flip cover-style case that offers protection for the front of the Moto G. No pricing details have been announced for the Motorola Shells, but Moto says that they’ll be available “soon.” The Moto G will launch as early as this week in Brazil and parts of Europe. Its rollout will continue in the following weeks as it hits Latin America, Europe, parts of Asia and Canada, with launches in the US, India, the Middle East and other parts of Asia to follow in January 2014. The Moto G will come preloaded with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but Motorola says that it plans to update the G to Android 4.4 KitKat at the beginning of 2014. Best Buy mistakenly reveals Sprint HTC One max launch date Nov 13th 2013, 14:40, by Nick Gray We’ve known for a while that the HTC One max would be making its way to Sprint’s network, but the service provider has yet to officially announce when the phone will be made available to its customers. Fortunately, due to a mistake on Best Buy’s part, we now know when the Sprint HTC One max will go on sale – November 15. The Sprint HTC One max will be priced at $250 with a two-year contract, but if you’re not interested in signing your life away to Sprint, you can always hand over $750 to Best Buy for a contract-free device. There’s still no word on when Verizon or AT&T will start selling the HTC One max, but we’re guessing the phone will be in stores in time for Black Friday.
