MOGA Power Series controllers now available
Nov 4th 2013, 15:09, by Robert Nelson

MOGA first unveiled the Power Series controllers back in early-June. We then saw the controllers come available for pre-order later in the summer, however the shipping timeframe remained as a more open ended mid-October. Well, October has already drawn to a close, but we do have some news for those who may have been waiting for either the Hero Power or Pro Power controller.

In short, both of these controllers have exited the pre-order period and are available for purchase beginning today. Initially the availability will be limited to the MOGAanywhere.com website, however these controllers will be arriving at other retailers shortly. MOGA has said they will both land with retailers to include Best Buy, GameStop, Target and Verizon in “early” November. Basically, these should be available in retail stores fairly soon.

Anyway, as the ‘power’ in the names would imply, these controllers both have a built-in power supply to keep your phone charged while playing. The Hero Power has an 1800 mAh battery and the Pro Power has a 2200 mAh battery. While the battery sizes differ, these both share many of the same features.

For example, both the Hero Power and Pro Power have dual-clickable analog sticks, D-Pad and A, B, X and Y buttons as well as L1/R1 and L2/R2 shoulder buttons and an LED battery life indicator. The Hero Power is touted as having a slim and portable design while the Pro Power is said to have console-style comfort.

Both models also ship with two charging cables and also have support for multiplayer gaming. And as compared to earlier models of the MOGA controllers, both of these are said to have improved ergonomics and improved Bluetooth radios. Otherwise, the Pro Power also ships with a tablet stand. That all being said, the MOGA Hero Power is $59.99 and the Pro Power is $79.99.

ZTE Grand S Flex detailed ahead of European release
Nov 4th 2013, 14:48, by Robert Nelson

Following the trio of Blade Q branded devices we saw ZTE announce last week, they have followed up this week with an announcement for another variant of the Grand S. In this case, ZTE has announced the Grand S Flex and it looks like this one will be heading to Europe. ZTE is touting this handset as having “clean and simple lines” that are then “combined with an ultra-thin 8.9mm touch screen.”

That being said, the ZTE Grand S Flex will bring features to include a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8930 processor that is paired with 1GB of RAM. The handset will also have LTE connectivity along with a 2300 mAh battery, 1 megapixel front-facing camera and 8 megapixel rear-facing camera with auto-focus and flash.

Those considering a purchase will find 16GB of internal storage, however the Grand S Flex will not have any microSD card slot. Otherwise, the Grand S Flex will be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at launch and also arriving with the regular array of smartphone basics. That is to say GPS, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.

Touching back on the clean and simple lines teaser, ZTE mentioned how the Grand S Flex was awarded an iF Design Award in 2013 and is certified for “outstanding international quality standards, both for technology and design.” That all being said, ZTE said the handset will be immediately available for those in Spain, Czech Republic and Slovakia and will be launched shortly in Germany, Finland and Poland.

Motorola Moto G prepped for a November 13 announcement
Nov 4th 2013, 14:17, by Robert Nelson

We have seen plenty of rumors and leaks surrounding the Moto G and it looks like Motorola is just about ready to come forward with some official details. This morning, Motorola has sent out a ‘save the date’ style email and also launched the www.moto-g.com teaser page. The disappointing, but not surprising part of this, neither reveals anything specific in terms of what can be expected.

What we do know is the event will be taking place on November 13. Motorola has the page showing with the Moto G name and the #MotoG hashtag. They are also showing the date in several different formats and languages, which suggests this will be more of a global scale in terms of a release.

Motorola will be streaming the event online, and as one would expect, we here at Android Community will be following closely. Otherwise, connecting the dots here, the Moto G is expected to be the low-cost alternative to the Moto X. This is also the handset that was previously called the Moto DVX.

Keeping in mind this is still rumor, but the specs are looking to include a 4.5-inch 720p display and quad-core 1.2GHz processor from Qualcomm. Other details suggest the Moto G will launch with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, 8GB of internal storage, a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera and 5 megapixel rear-facing camera.

That said, for those without a calendar handy, the event will take place on November 13, which is a week from this coming Wednesday.
