Nvidia Shield Hands On 1600 aa

After a rocky start, the Nvidia Shield finally landed into the hands of consumers a few weeks ago. Since that time, Nvidia has not only managed to fulfill all pre-orders, but has even sold out already! Due to the strong sales so far, Nvidia says it will now kick production of the device into high gear.

While the $299 Android-powered gaming handheld isn’t for everyone, its combination of Android 4.2 support, PC streaming and excellent built-in controls make it a solid choice for many gamers looking to bridge the PC and mobile world.

It's still too early to say whether Nvidia has a hit on its hands or not, but if Nvidia can continue to provide this level of support for the device, things certainly look good.

Even better, Nvidia seems dedicated to improving the Shield experience and has now issued a 402MB update for its new handheld system.

The update brings with it several bug fixes, minor enhancements and audio performance tweaks.

Previously, Nvidia Shield owners had reported some audio issues when streaming their PC games over to the handheld. These problems are now fully addressed.

What do you think of the Nvidia Shield? Interested in getting one, already have one or feel that it is unnecessary purchase?
