Meizu MX3

When we last brought you news of the Meizu MX3, it was to show off some new press renders and rumors. One rumor, which turned out to be correct, was that the phone would carry a whopping 128GB of storage. The Meizu MX3 is now official and it will fit right in with the other most powerful smartphones in the world.

Here are some of the Meizu MX3 specs:

  • Exynos 5410 Octa SoC (featuring 8 cores, 4 A15 at 1.6GHz and 4 A7 at 1.2GHz)
  • 2GB RAM
  • 128GB of storage
  • PowerVR SGX544 GPU
  • 5.1-inch, 1800×1080, 415ppi IPS display
  • Android 4.2 with Meizu’s custom Flyme 3.0 skin over top
  • 8MP camera with 2MP front facing camera. Back camera has sapphire glass-protected lens, an f/2.0 aperture, and Fujitsu ISP.
  • Wolfson audio chip
  • 2400mAh battery

All in all, it’s really not a bad device. The specs are on part with most flagships today and shouldn’t have much trouble competing on that level in terms of performance. The Meizu MX3 also boasts a state of the art antenna which Meizu claims is vastly better than the iPhone 5 for reception. The device comes in GSM flavor now, with a WCDMA version promised.

For pricing, sources report that it’ll be around $410US for the 16GB variety with options going up to $650US for the 128GB model. About the only thing that could cause the Meizu MX3 trouble is that single home button below the interface. We wouldn’t be shocked if Apple lawyers were drawing up a complaint about that as we speak.

It’s definitely a good looking device and with solid specs and pricing, it has the capability to go pretty far. All things considered, would anyone want to pick one of these bad boys up? If you have a moment, we’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
