Koush teases again: mirror your Android device in your browser (video)
Oct 28th 2013, 15:51, by Bogdan Petrovan

Noted CyanogenMod developer Koushik Dutta is teasing us with a nifty new feature – mirroring an Android device in the browser.

As you can see from the video above, the concept is simple: Koush found a way to smoothly mirror the screen of an Android device in a browser window, a feature that could come in very handy for many users. The feature may be useful for playing games or consuming media on a large screen, provided the FPS rate is good enough. Koush didn't provide any details on how he developed this presumably native functionality.

Another potential use for the mirroring feature could involve the Chromecast. It may be possible to use it to mirror any content from an Android device to a TV, via Chrome. Koushik Dutta's earlier app that enabled Chromecasting local content, AllCast, stopped working after Google updated the dongle, prompting the developer to publicly cry foul.

For now, Koush hasn't revealed much detail about the mirroring functionality, but we assume it will eventually become part of CyanogenMod, perhaps together with the screen recording feature that Koush teased last week.
