Nexus 7 pre-orders begin with T-Mobile Nov 8th 2013, 15:02, by Robert Nelson T-Mobile has been teasing the upcoming availability of the Nexus 7 on Twitter lately. They weren’t offering much in terms of hints, and the tweets were simply offering a coming soon message. But that being said, the carrier has opened up pre-orders. And while this is the same Nexus 7 that is already available by way of the Google Play Store, T-Mobile does have a potential perk. Basically, instead of grabbing the tablet for $349, T-Mobile will let you get it with no money down. T-Mobile has the full retail price listed as begin $384, which means you will be paying a bit extra if you go this route, but again, they have it with a no money down option. Those going that route will then have 24 monthly payments of $16. Basically, in the end you will be paying an additional $35. And at this time, the Nexus 7 pre-order listing on the T-Mobile site shows a shipping date of November 20th. Coincidentally, that is the same day the Nexus 5 is expected to arrive with T-Mobile. But remember, the Nexus 5 date is still unconfirmed at this time. Back to the Nexus 7, regardless of which path you choose to make a purchase, the hardware of the tablet remains the same. The Nexus 7 has a 7-inch (1920 x 1200 and 323 ppi) display, Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 3950 mAh battery, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera and a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera. That announcement ended a series of rumors, however it didn’t answer every question that needed answering. For example, OPPO talked about a regular model N1 and also a limited CyanogenMod edition. Well, it looks like OPPO has since returned with some of those answers. To begin with, both versions of the handset will be available from December. For Cyanogen fans, the good news is that both versions of the OPPO N1 will support CyanogenMod. The limited edition OPPO N1 will ship running CyanogenMod. We have yet to see a full list of customizations, however OPPO has said this model will be running a customized version of CyanogenMod that has support for all of the “unique features of the OPPO N1, and include extra CyanogenMod accessories.” The limited edition CyanogenMod N1 will ship with a specially designed case with the mascots. In this case that would be Cid for CyanogenMod and Ollie for OPPO. This model will also have a “unique CyanogenMod packaging” as well as some CyanogenMod stickers included in the box. Otherwise, while the regular model N1 will not be running CyanogenMod from the first boot — it shouldn’t be hard to get up and running. This model will have CyanogenMod pre-loaded and the handset will support the installation directly from the stock recovery. Or in other words, those with a non-limited edition N1 will be able to flash CM without having to first root and install a custom recovery. Further touching on the December availability, we have yet to see a full list of markets, however OPPO has said the handset will “ship internationally.” That all being said, regardless of whether you get the limited or non-limited edition model, the hardware will include a 5.9-inch 1080p display, quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, Adreno 320 graphics, a 3160 mAh battery and 206 degree rotating 13 megapixel camera.
