Ghosts of Nexus past: Nexus 5 vs Nexus 4 vs Galaxy Nexus vs Nexus S vs Nexus One (video)
Nov 8th 2013, 04:58, by Chris Smith

A video comparison between all the Nexus smartphones made to date shows how far Nexus performance has come, but also reveals the improvements and optimizations in Android from Nexus One to Nexus 5.

It's not exactly fair to compare later 2013 flagships to much older Nexus devices – the Nexus One was launched in early 2010 for example – but the video above (via PhoneBuff) shows how fast the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat are compared to their predecessors.

The three-minute is basically a speed comparison between the Nexus 5, Nexus 4, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Nexus One in various instances, from boot up time, to gaming and Internet browsing.

Obviously, the Nexus 5 is faster than the Nexus 4 in every test, and significantly faster than the older Nexus handsets.

In case you still own one of the first Nexus models, the message is clear, it's time to upgrade. Otherwise, you'll be wasting 25 seconds every time you play Temple Run 2 on your old Nexus device compared to running the same game on the Nexus 5, as PhoneBuff puts it.

Are you buying a Nexus 5?
