In an effort to create a new division for “emerging devices,” according to an internal HTC email obtained by the Wall Street Journal, the company is placing its global sales president in charge of American operations as the reshuffling of execs continues at the Taiwanese manufacturer.
The Wall Street Journal article reads:
"Effective immediately, in addition to his current duties in supporting me with global corporate strategy, [President of Global Sales] Jason Mackenzie will lead HTC America," HTC's chief executive, Peter Chou, told employees in an internal email Sunday. "[President of North America] Mike Woodward will lead Emerging Devices, a newly established business unit that will focus on innovative new HTC products and global distribution strategies."
Whether all the recent changes will have a positive or negative effect on their recently dismal sales numbers has yet to be determined. We’ll certainly see soon enough.
