Take the above image with a grain of salt, because its origin on a Chinese forum is as shady as they get. With that said, Sony has been rumored to launch the Honami at IFA 2013 or just ahead of it, so this teaser might just be real.
Looking at the image, the alleged i1 features the purple paint scheme that Sony already used extensively on its 2013 Xperia range. You can see the distinctive silver power button, the volume rocker, and what may be a SIM card slot. While the profile of the mystery device is somehow different from the recent leaks of the Sony i1, which showed flatter sides, the discrepancy might be due to the viewing angle.
Rumored to come with a Snapdragon 800 processor, a 5-inch display, and an impressive 20MP camera, the Sony i1 is reportedly the first device developed by the Japanese company under the "One Sony" philosophy, which aims to employ the expertise of the entire group in the development of every product.
If Sony does unveil the Honami on September 4, it will be a really busy time for tech bloggers and Android fans alike, as Samsung will hold its Note 3 press event on the same day.
