Just a quick heads up for you guys and gals that the Android Device Manager is now live. We mentioned this on our social media streams yesterday but felt obligated to share with our site readers as well.

The Android Device Manager lets users log in and check the whereabouts for the Android smartphones and tablets. Indeed, there is a great map and drop-down list to help find the last known locations of your devices. Should you need to locate a missing phone in your house, car, or friend’s place, you can force it to ring at maximum volume for 5 minutes straight, even if it was on silent.

Another helpful, last-resort measure is that you can remotely wipe the device. This way, your stolen phone can be erased and you’ll keep your data secure.

Give it a shot and let us know what you think of the tool. Too little, too late or just what you needed at the right and at the right time?
