Preparing for parties used to be such a hassle. The stressful process of building a guest list, sending out invitations, finding the perfect foods, struggling while looking through your liquor cabinet, and of course planning what games you were going to play became tiring and took the joy out of setting it all up. With a little technology, you can enjoy the whole process again. Leave it to Android apps to help you plan the best party possible! Hit the break for what we feel are the best apps for planning your next big party.

Evite

1. Invitations- Evite: Why spend money on envelopes, postage and stationary? Why worry about getting the perfect design right for your next party's invitation? We live in a digital world, and it's about time you adjust. The Evite for Android application allows users to send out invitations to party-goers on the fly, as well as manage guest lists and see RSVPs. Push notifications can also be enabled for event updates and for when a guest RSVPs or adds comments. Evite's UI is extremely simple and displays a really nice overview of each event, including information such as whether people replied or not, how many guests they are bringing (broken down into adults and kids), an option to update your RSVP and notifications, and event details such as start and end time. There's also an option to look at photos of the event and other attending guests. This app is perfect for getting a group together for just about anything!

Recipe_Search

2. Food Recipes- Recipe Search: If you're having a party, you'll probably want to serve some food, unless of course you want people leaving within the first hour. Why break out the old cookbooks and search through countless pages of nonsense when you can just browse for any recipe you want, all on your mobile device? My favorite recipe app on Android is Recipe Search, which includes every feature that you could want in a recipe app. If you're not sure on how to go about a specific cooking technique, just ask a question through the app and get real time responses from real cooks that are also using the app! There's also a social aspect of the app, as you can share photos of completed dishes to other users— maybe you'll want to send them to your guests! They will be super-excited for the party. Bookmarking is simple so you'll be able to plan ahead for your party without having to remember exactly what recipe you wanted to use for your get-together.

Mixologist

3. Drink Recipes- Mixologist Drink Recipes: What's a party without drinks? You certainly don't need your phone to have a little fun, but it's definitely nice to have a drink recipes app to show off your bartending skills to all of your friends. The 'Mixologist' app includes over 7,900 drink recipes with over 1,300 ingredients. Possibly the best feature in the application is the "Liquor Cabinet" tab, which lets users add a list of all of the liquor and mixers you have on hand. Mixologist will spit out a database of cocktails that you can make with your current list of ingredients. The app also includes a slot-machine styled "random drinks" feature, drink recipe categories, bartending terminology and techniques, metric/imperial units, and the ability to add custom drinks to the library. And of course if for some reason you don't know where your local liquor store is, there is a built-in locator that uses the Google Maps interface. Definitely get this app before your party and your friends will start calling you "Master Bartender."

Our_Groceries_Shopping_List

4. Shopping List App- Our Groceries Shopping List: Just last week we did a guide on the top shopping list applications for Android, which included my personal favorite, 'Our Groceries Shopping List.' This application allows users to access their content not only on their phones, but on a web interface as well, including cross-device/cross-platform syncing of data. The real-time updating feature is really nice, as other users can see list-items being crossed off as the shopper adds items to his/her shopping cart. If you're planning a party with friends, this is a perfect way to keep up to date with everyone so that unnecessary items aren’t purchased. The ability to categorize items is also a great tool so that you won't find yourself wandering around the store for hours looking for items. You can also add recipe lists, breaking down full meals into simple ingredients, making it easier for you to get an overview of everything and know that you aren’t forgetting anything. The app truly works and its simplistic interface offers some really nice features behind it.

101 Drinking Games

5. Party Games- 101 Drinking Games: Conversation is slowing down, so now it's time to have a little fun. Break out the '101 Drinking Games' app, which features over 250 drinking games (4 of them are playable in the app itself, so you there is no need to bring cards or dice with you.) I'm not going to lie here— this app is certainly a little outdated looking, but it still has great functionality and features some really fun games for you to play with your friends at your party. If you need some more drink recipes (if Mixologist didn't do it for you), then this app has a few included as well. Definitely go grab this free app if you want to add to the fun of your party!
