Nexus 7 (2013)

Google’s certainly quickening it’s pace with availability concerning the Nexus 7 (2013). With the Nexus 7 (2012), it took Google quite awhile to get the tablet to Japan, but that isn’t the case with this newer variant. According to Blog of Mobile and a report from Engadget Japan, Google today announced the launch of the Nexus 7 (2013) in Japan, saying it will be available for purchase on Aug. 28 with the 16GB model priced at 27,800 yen and the 32GB model 33,800 yen, which is roughly $281USD and $344USD at current exchange rates.

Google also reportedly has news related to the LTE variant coming to Japan. The SIM-unlocked 32GB Nexus 7 (2013) can be yours come the middle of September for just under 40,000 yen, which again, is roughly $405USD at current exchange rates. The device is off-contract, and Google has reportedly said that the Nexus 7 (2013) will work on all three of Japan’s most major carriers – DoCoMo, Softbank, and KDDI’s au.

On the other hand, it’s cool to see that the LTE model is coming to Japan in mid-September. Maybe that’s a hint that we’ll see the LTE variant of the Nexus 7 (2013) here in the U.S. soon?

We’ll see.
