Get This Look: UiX
Oct 8th 2013, 20:21, by AndroidGuys

We’re huge fans of changing the home screen around a bit and creating a new user experience for our Android. So much so that we present this weekly series of Get This Look posts.

In a nutshell we show you a new look for your Android handset and tell you which apps you’ll need if you want to mimic the feel. Some of these are a little easier to create than others and many of them can be tweaked to no end. The following details are but the ingredients to which you can create your own delicious Android dish; your results will vary. Which is awesome!

If nothing else, this is a great way to discover new apps, widgets, icons, and more!

WHY WE LOVE THIS LOOK:

UIX Design03_original

This one has the right balance of color and white as well as a great mix of icons versus widgets. Somehow there’s a ton of information and access displayed on the homescreen yet it never feels cluttered. You’ve got everything you need on one panel, including weather, notifications, shortcuts to popular apps, and a music widget. Meticulously crafted, it looks like something you might find a handset maker pre-loading as the homescreen UI for customers.

There’s a little bit of work to get this exact layout however the designer has put together some step-by-step instructions for help.

The apps used in this design can be used to create some other fantastic layouts, some of which can be found in other Get This Look features.
