Just in case you haven’t had enough from HTC today, we have a cool accessory for the HTC One X and HTC One S. It is the HTC Media Link HD, and it creates a connection between your smartphone and TV, allowing you to watch your media on the big screen.
This little device allows you to mirror your device’s screen, letting you stream HD videos and images to any HDMI-capable TV. One can also use it for PowerPoint presentations, playing high-definition games and taking advantage of other apps and services.
It looks like an enticing product, mainly due to the fact that it works wirelessly. It is only necessary to install it once. After that, it only takes a 3-finger swipe gesture to display your content in the large screen.
Details are still scarce, so we have no idea about the price and availability. But we are sure the Media Link HD will be released along with the HTC One smartphones. Stay tuned, as we might have some hands-on time with this soon.

Being a loyal customer hardly pays off, but every now and then awesome offers show up. And we have recently found out that Verizon is holding a very special sale for its “loyal” customers.
If you have been with Verizon for quite some time, and have an upgrade available any time soon, it might be worth to keep an eye on your inbox. Verizon has been sending e-mails to select subscribers, offering them free devices.
These are not just any devices, though. The offer includes phones like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the Motorola Droid RAZR and the Samsung Stratosphere. These devices go from $150-$300, so this is definitely a deal to sign up for.
As expected, you will have to sign a 2-year contract, but most people do anyways. Are any of you getting these e-mails? Signing up for any of these phones?

Today’s HTC announcements have overshadowed all other news, but there are some important facts hidden within those press releases. According to AT&T’s HTC One X announcement, the HTC Vivid will also be getting updated to Android 4.0 within the “coming weeks.”
This update will not only bring Ice Cream Sandwich goodness to proud Vivid owners, but it will also feature an “updated Sense experience” (probably similar to HTC Sense 3.6, featured in the HTC One V) and the updated version of Beats Audio.
HTC One devices come with a more integrated version of Beats Audio. Such technology is now able to be utilized by other apps. This improves the sound quality of the whole smartphone experience, as opposed to just HTC’s music player.
This is great news for all HTC Vivid owners, so stay tuned for more details about your update and wait patiently.

Carriers are starting to call dibs on all the HTC One smartphones like it is the end of the world. None of them have been able to say much about pricing and availability, though. And if you are one of those that prefer SIM-unlocked devices, English company Clove Technology has some good details for you.
Clove has just announced price and availability for all three SIM-unlocked versions of the HTC One series. So here are the details if you prefer going this route:
The HTC One X will be prices at £492, while the HTC One S will go for £450, and both will be available coming April 5th. If you prefer going for the little guy, the HTC One V will set you back £264 and will be available a few weeks later, on April 26th. (All prices include VAT).
Converted to US dollars, the prices range from about $419 to $744. Of course, these SIM-free devices are usually pricier, especially when first released. The prices should be lower in due time, especially when these devices start hitting specific carriers.
Is anyone planning to import one of these?

We have been blown away by HTC’s announcements at Mobile World Congress, so it is time we start settling down and looking at the company’s entry-level announced device. This would be the HTC One V, which does not have the best of specs, but sure comes with some of the great features that the One S and One X sport.
HTC One V specs include a 3.7-inch display, 1 GHz single-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, Android 4.0 (with Sense 3.6), 4 GB of internal storage, microSD slot and a 5 MP camera. Said camera is still as great as the ones in the other HTC One devices. The only caveat is that it is not an 8 MP camera, and it only records at 720p. But it is still great in low-light conditions.
The aesthetics take us back in time, reminding us of the looks of the HTC Legend and Dream (G1). The device does comes with a less modern version of HTC Sense, so much of the functionality and improvement will be missing. But for the specs, you can be sure that this device will come at very low prices.
Unlike the other HTC One smartphones, this one hasn’t been claimed by any US carriers yet. But we are sure we will be hearing more details soon.
Stay tuned for our hands-on posts and let us know what you think. This would be a great phone for smartphone first-timers, or for the kids. Are any of you considering this one?

While the HTC One S is not as beastly as the just announced HTC One X, it holds its own and has all the functionality that its bigger brother sports. The HTC One is a slightly more moderate device for those that don’t need a quad-core phone or a huge display, but still want a strong, good-looking smartphone.
The HTC One S looks much like a smaller version of the One X. It features a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a 4.3-inch display, 16 GB of internal storage, Android 4.0 (with HTC Sense) and the same 8 MP camera and 1.3 MP front shooter that its bigger brother holds.
We are reaching a weird point in technology, and don’t know if we should call this a mid-tier device. These specs would have been high-end just a couple of months ago. But the fact is that this device will definitely hold its own. It might not be a quad-core phone, but those specs are still stunning.
It also features Beats Audio, an amazing camera, and even those 25 free GB of Dropbox storage. If you are looking into purchasing one of these, T-Mobile has already jumped in line to bring it to the US. It should be available this Spring, and will come with HSPA+42 connectivity.
So if you have been wondering what T-Mobile phone to get next, this is definitely one to consider.
T-Mobile Brings HTC One S to the U.S.
T-Mobile’s Thinnest Smartphone Delivers an Amazing Camera, HD Video Capture and Beats Audio™ Integration, All Running on America’s Largest 4G Network®
BELLEVUE, Wash. -- Feb. 26, 2012 -- Today at Mobile World Congress 2012, HTC announced the upcoming availability of the HTC One™ S, with T-Mobile® as the premier launch partner in the U.S. Expected this spring, the HTC One S is T-Mobile’s thinnest smartphone (7.95mm), featuring an ultra-sleek, aluminum unibody design. The next smartphone to take advantage of 4G technology (HSPA+42) running on America’s Largest 4G Network, the HTC One S is T-Mobile’s first product to ship with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and HTC Sense™ 4.
With access to T-Mobile’s fastest network speeds, the HTC One S allows for a high-quality entertainment experience, which is also enhanced by Beats By Dr. Dre™ technology. The Beats Audio integration in the HTC One S is enabled for richer, more authentic sound when consumers listen to music. The HTC One S also makes it simple to get and listen to music, with Google Music pre-loaded on the device for easy cloud-based access to the user’s personal music collection.
"We’re thrilled to partner with HTC on the launch of its new HTC One series of smartphones and to bring the HTC One S to the U.S.," said Andrew Sherrard, senior vice president, marketing, T-Mobile USA. "With the HTC One S, we’re not only delivering on our promise to bring leading-edge technology to market but are continuing to provide customers with the best 4G entertainment experiences from listening to high-quality music to streaming high-resolution movies."
Consumers increasingly expect smartphone camera technology that offers the ability to capture life’s moments with high-quality photos and videos - and the HTC One S delivers. Joining
T-Mobile’s best-in-class lineup of advanced camera smartphones from HTC, the arrival of the HTC One S marks the introduction of HTC’s new amazing camera experience that rivals traditional digital cameras. With the introduction of HTC ImageSense™, improvements are brought to every part of the 8-megapixel camera, including lens, the sensor and the software. Camera enhancements include:
· Superfast Capture - The HTC One S dramatically reduces the time it takes to capture those key moments, with an estimated 0.7-second shot time and a 0.2-second autofocus that allows for nearly unlimited continuous shots.
· High Quality Photos in Adverse Conditions - The HTC One S delivers dramatic enhancements in image capture quality even in adverse lighting conditions. The f/2.0 lens on the HTC One S offers amazing low-light performance, capturing 40 percent more light than the f/2.4 lenses available on other high-end phones.
· Concurrent Video/Still Capture - HTC One S lets the user capture a shot and shoot video at the same time - perfect for capturing life’s moments as they happen. While shooting 1080p HD video, consumers just need to tap the shutter button and the device snaps a high-resolution still photo while the video continues to shoot. Consumers can also capture a still from a previously recorded video.
"People take photos on their phone more than any activity other than making phone calls, which is why we improved every part of the camera experience on HTC One S," said Jason Mackenzie, president, global sales and marketing, HTC Corporation. "We’re thrilled to bring our combination of our premium design, amazing camera and authentic sound to T-Mobile customers in the U.S."
The HTC One S will be one of the fastest smartphones running on America’s Largest 4G Network, with access to T-Mobile’s fastest 4G (HSPA+ 42) speeds, currently available in 175 markets, reaching more than 180 million Americans. Equipped with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor by Qualcomm®, the HTC One S delivers powerful performance while Web browsing, streaming movies and watching TV shows on the device’s 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED touch screen.
Availability
The HTC One S is expected to be available this spring from T-Mobile at retail stores, select dealers and retailers nationwide, and online at http://www.t-mobile.com. For more information, visit http://htc.t-mobile.com/one/s-4g-phone or http://www.htc.com/us/products/htcones-tmobile.

We have been waiting to see more details about the HTC One X (Previously known as HTC Endeavor and Edge) for a while. Mobile World Congress is finally taking off, and HTC has given us our fix of what could be your next smartphone. The HTC One X is probably the main highlight of HTC’s press event, and brings some of the best specs we have seen in a while.
This Quad-Core device is no weak link. It sports a Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, Android 4.0 (With HTC’s new Sense 4.0), a 4.7-inch 720p Super LCD display and an f2.0 8 MP rear-facing camera capable of 1080p recording.
AT&T has just announced that it will be bringing this device to the States, as an exclusive. Except the US version will not come with a Tegra 3 processor. Instead, the US HTC One X will pack a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.
This may not sound as exciting as the international version, but we will have to wait and see how the US version performs. More details about the launch are to come within 60 days, so stay tuned to see more details about when this bad boy will hit your market.
NVIDIA Delivers Quad-Core Performance in New HTC One X
BARCELONA, Spain--Feb. 26, 2012--NVIDIA today announced that its NVIDIA® Tegra® 3 mobile processor, the world’s only 4-PLUS-1™ quad-core processor, is powering the new HTC One™ X unveiled at Mobile World Congress. The smartphone represents the first collaboration between the two companies.
The NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor features a unique 4-PLUS-1 quad-core architecture that delivers outstanding performance and exceptional battery life. It does this by progressively powering on each of its four main CPU cores as they’re needed for increasingly more demanding tasks, and relying on its fifth battery saver core for less demanding tasks and active standby mode. Tegra 3’s 12-core GPU enables consumers to enjoy console-quality gaming, as well as 1080p HD video capabilities unlike anything seen before on a smartphone.
"The HTC One X with Tegra 3 provides an experience that consumers will absolutely love," said Kouji Kodera, Chief Product Officer at HTC. "We knew our next super phone had to be fantastic. That’s why we chose to work with NVIDIA."
"HTC has quickly become one of the world’s most innovative makers of mobile devices," said Michael Rayfield, General Manager of the Mobile business at NVIDIA. "The HTC One X exemplifies what we’ve come to expect from one of the world’s top phone makers."

We have seen some great devices coming from Barcelona today, but HTC has definitely blown up the stage. Taiwan’s manufacturer has just announced its HTC One series of smartphones, displaying the top-of-the-line mobile technology HTC has been promising since last year.
The HTC One S, X and V boast some impressive specs, including quad-core processors, Android 4.0 and HTC Sense 4.0. But what HTC is focusing on is media. These devices are boasted to be optimized for amazing music and camera performance.
The camera is quite impressive. HTC is using what they call “ImageSense” to improve the shooter’s performance. The camera is able to take a picture in just 0.7 seconds, with a 1.2 second auto-focus lag. The camera app interface is also simpler, as HTC has made it unnecessary to switch modes while shooting, and the app has a faster burst-shot experience.
The camera is also suppossed to work great under low-light conditions, but we have already seen HTC work on this. Past devices, like the HTC Amaze, have ISO options, allowing you to play with the “film’s” sensitivity.
We have also seen HTC work with Beats, so it is not surprising to see it moving towards the entertainment route. All of this is also optimized by HTC Sense 4.0, which has been stripped down and made simple to improve speed and performance.
Beats Audio is also more deeply integrated. Now, any music or game app can take advantage of Beats software to enhance audio, instead of being exclusive to HTC’s music player. And if all of this was not enough, HTC has also partnered with Dropbox to give 25 free GB of cloud storage for two years, to anyone who purchases an HTC One phone.
More details to come as soon as we get our hands all over these bad boys. Stay tuned for more specific details on the devices, as well as HTC services.

Sony had quite an eventful day, today at MWC. After announcing its upcoming smartphone launches, new devices and plans for the future, we can say that we have great expectations for the company, this year. But there is also a bit of good news for those that are interested in smartphone computing.
Sony has also released the SmartDock, which plays along with the Sony Xperia P to create an entertainment center-like experience. According to Sony, users will be able to connect their devices to a monitor or TV, and control their media and apps via a remote control, or a keyboard/mouse plugged in to the phone’s USB ports.

We assume it will be much like Motorola’s WebTop experience, but with a bit more focus on entertainment. The highlight of mobile computing this MWC is definitely Ubuntu for Android, though. So we will have to wait for more details, and see how the competition falls into place.

Let’s take a break from the Mobile World Congress madness and talk about security. This is a huge issue in the smartphone market, as our devices hold all of our personal information. But we might be a little careless at times, and give developers too many rights. Today’s security issues revolve around Facebook, who is being accused of reading users’ text messages.
We already know that Facebook is not exactly the most careful about your private information. But London’s Sunday Times is reporting that Facebook has gone as far as to read user’s text messages. Of course, not as a hobby, though. The “sources” claim that this was done for testing purposes, while on the process of launching its own messaging service.
Regardless, it seems a bit weird to imagine that these guys have access to such information. We have given Facebook such privilege, though, just as we have for everything else they are blamed for. If you want to keep all of your information completely secure, those long pages of terms and conditions should start becoming more appealing.
We are not quite sure who these sources are, and how much credibility they hold. Let’s stay calm and wait to see if we can learn more about this, or if Facebook has anything to say about the matter. For now, refrain from sending all them mischievous messages!

Sony has just announced its latest smartphones, the Xperia U and P, but that is not the only news we have from the Japanese manufacturer. According to CMO Steve Walker, Sony is further committing to the smartphone market by launching “by far the largest brand advertising campaign that we have run for many years.”
As Sony starts to take full charge of its mobile division, we are starting to see some great investments and improvements. Not only are the phones starting to get better and launching faster, but the company is showing a great deal of commitment towards the mobile industry.
We do not know much about this new ad campaign, but Walker attests to the fact that they have their eyes fixed on 2012. So be sure that we will start seeing more from Sony very soon.

Ramchan Woo, LG’s mobile division head has told CNET that the company is "heavily in discussions" with Google to be their next partner for the Nexus line of devices. There was no mention of what kind of device it would be, however.
There has been a lot of talk since the start of the year of LG possibly creating a "Nexus" TV of sorts, while lately there’s been murmurings of a Nexus tablet.
The good news for Android manufacturers, though, is that despite some negativity surrounding Google’s acquisition of Motorola, that many analysts believed would give Moto special treatment, Google has continued to consider  other companies for the Nexus line.
Woo also went on to state that LG will continue to use custom UI skins, saying that the company knows "customer data better than Google.”

Sony (non-Ericsson) has just finished its MWC press event, announcing two devices, the Sony Xperia P and the Sony Xperia U. We must say that we are starting to become very pleased with the Changes that Sony is implementing after taking charge of the situation.
These may not be quad-core phones, but they look like solid dual-core devices. And they are said to hit the streets during quarter 2 of this year, which is not far from now.

Sony Xperia P

The Xperia P is probably the highlight of Sony’s MWC announcements. This good-looking device has an aluminum unibody, which should give it a very solid and sturdy feel. Packed inside, we have a dual-core processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread (we are sure it will get Android 4.0), a 4-inch “White Magic” display, an 8 MP camera, NFC and HDMI connectivity.

Sony Xperia U

This one is not too much of a surprise. It is a dual-core device with Android 2.3 (should get Android 4.0, as well), a 3.5-inch Reality Display and, according to Sony, over 6 hours of talk-time battery life.
As you can see, this is a little guy aimed at those that are not digging the larger smartphones.

Wrap Up

These may not be the quad-core powerhouses you have been dreaming of for months. But they are solid devices with specs good enough for much of the general consumer pool. Not to mention that Sony is revamping the phones with awesome aesthetics and some better specs.
Stay tuned for more details about these phones. We will post the press release as soon as we get it, as well as our hands-on posts.

The gorgeous looking yet underpowered (typically Sony, eh?) Xperia S has begun shipping globally already, and will be available for purchase at Sony Stores this week in Barcelona, before the end of Mobile World Congress.
The device has a 1.5 GHz dual core processor and runs a heavily skinned version of Gingerbread, and a really attractive 4.3" 720p display.
Sony Mobile CMO Steve Walker also said the company would be starting “by far the largest brand advertising campaign that we have run for many years.” He also mentioned their marketing expenditure in 2012 will increase substantially, though he didn’t go into the details.
On a related note, Sony has also announced that the Xperia Ion will be launched globally this summer. We had our hands-on time with both during CES, so check that out if you haven’t.

The Mobile World Congress madness is taking off. While it is going to be the year of the quad-core processor, for Barcelona, there is also a plethora of dual-core goodness coming. An example is the Galaxy Tab 2 series, which have just been announced by Samsung.
The only noticeable upgrade from last year’s Galaxy Tab devices seems to be the fact that these come with Android 4.0. Aside from that, you will find pretty much the same deal in a different package. Specs include a 1 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of internal storage (also an 8 GB version of the 7-inch tablet) a 3 MP rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera.
The Galaxy Tab 2 tablets will come in WiFi-only and 3G versions, as well as 7-inch and 10.1-inch form-factors. You can pick your own preferences. The main difference between the two is that the battery for the 7-inch version is only a 4,000 mAh one, while the 10.1 device has a whopping 7,000 mAh battery.
We will have time to spend some hands-on time later on, so stay tuned to see how these tablets do. We should also be expecting that 10-inch Galaxy Note we have been seeing around.
Samsung’s new GALAXY Tab 2 series offers optimal multimedia experiences in life
Samsung introduces its first line-up of tablets for 2012 with the launch of the GALAXY Tab 2 series, expanding the choice of tablets to customers. The GALAXY Tab 2 series includes a 7" version and a 10.1" version. Starting from UK, the GALAXY Tab 2 series will be launched in global market from March.
The GALAXY Tab 2 series is available in 3G and WiFi versions, as well as in 7" and 10.1" variants. Light and portable, the GALAXY Tab 2 (7.0) is the ideal personal on-the-go device; while the larger GALAXY Tab 2 (10.1) is well-suited for home and family use.
The GALAXY Tab 2 series is exhibited at Samsung stand (Hall 8), Mobile World Congress 2012. For multimedia content and more detailed information, please visit www.samsungmobilepress.com.
