Update - 266

According to quite a few sources, including Reuters, AllThingsD, Engadget, and Slashgear, while the deal has concluded and been inked, it hasn't completely closed yet. Beats Audio's acquisition of MOG  would be a boon to HTC specifically, due to the fact that they're one of the majority shareholders of Beats. HTC's new emphasis on media (including their incorporation of Beats into Sense 4) and the fact that MOG has recently entrenched themselves socially on Facebook also played contributing roles in the deal. HTC also stands as the most logical contender to be able to incorporate a service like MOG into their Sense Android overlay.
It will be interesting to see what the specifics of this deal are, including the effect on current MOG subscribers. For the time being, the only thing we can do is look at the information we already have and wait for HTC, Beats, and/or MOG to make some sort of announcement.
What do you use for music? Will this deal be a good thing for both MOG and HTC/Beats? Let us know in the comments!

As we await the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S III announcement, Young-Ha has taken the stage at Beijing. The main purpose of his appearance was to inform the press about Samsung's strategies. But Samsung China's President also gave us a bit of light about the Galaxy S III arrival, mentioning that it could be launched as soon as April.
Rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S III have been constantly rising, especially the past couple weeks. Many seem to be fake, especially some of the leaked images (the most credible one leaked a few days ago). But among wireless charging, LTE-compatible Exynos chips, and other rumors, this brings a little light to the Android community. The reason being that it comes straight from a Samsung executive.
The time frame is not exact. Young-Ha explains that the plan has been to announce the flagship device sometime in May, but it would be preferable to make the jump during April, if possible. This means that delays are still possible, as the Korean manufacturer is flexible about the debut.
Samsung has plans to release the device globally shortly after the announcement. Such news makes a May or June announcement more believable. With a few leaks here and there, and a bit of luck, we just might see the Galaxy S III next month. Stay tuned to AndroidGuys for all the latest rumors and fanfare on Sammy's latest flagship device.
So who's excited to finally see a glimpse of the Galaxy S III? Anyone else think this is just a bunch of smoke and mirrors for a device that might not even exist? Drop a comment below!

For Toshiba's next tablet, the company is going back to the same well that brought us the original Thrive.  The hardware maker recently introduced its new 7-inch LT170, with a seemingly identical form factor as their initial Android effort. Specifications include a 1GHz CPU, 512MB RAM, 8GB internal storage, and MicroSD and MicroUSB ports.
Priced at €299 ($400 US) this will have a hard time selling against a $200 Kindle Fire or Archos G9 Turbo series. Considering the rumored $150 Nexus Tablet could be a few months away we are not optimistic about the Toshiba LT170's chances. There's no indication yet as to if, or when, this tablet will come to the United States, however we would expect a separate announcement.

Those of you following the NFC space and Google  Wallet stories of late will recall that Google recently decided to temporarily pull down/shelve the Prepaid Card feature.  Things look to be ramping back up with word that Google is sending out emails to Wallet users to advise that Prepaid option has returned.  To help make amends, Google is even tossing in a cool $5 for the problems.  This amount will be in your account, in addition to any monies that you had the last time you were able to use it.
Here's a copy of the email that's currently being sent to Google Wallet users.
Hello,
As you may have experienced over the last few weeks, we temporarily disabled the feature to add the Google Prepaid Card back to your wallet if you previously removed the card or reset your wallet. We temporarily disabled this feature to ensure the security of our Wallet customers. We recognize this may have been an inconvenience for you, and we did not make this decision lightly.
We are happy to announce that you can now add the Google Prepaid Card back to your wallet with the newest version of Google Wallet, and any funds that you previously had on the card should be restored, unless you contacted Money Network and asked for a refund of those funds. To add the Google Prepaid Card back, you will first need to update your Google Wallet application to the most recent version.
To compensate you for any inconvenience this may have caused, we have credited an additional $5 (five US dollars) to your Google Prepaid Card. If you have further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at 855-492-5538.
Thank you for your continued support of Google Wallet, and we look forward to launching many new and exciting features for you to enjoy in the coming months.
Sincerely,
The Google Wallet Team

MetroPCS appears to be readying an enhanced version of their LG Optimus M handset, thanks to a newly leaked render.  Expected to replace the current budget Android smartphone, this presumed Optimus M+ is a moderate step forward in terms of hardware.  Specifications are said to include Android 2.3 Gingerbread, a 3.5-inch display, a 5-megapixel camera, and newer Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity.
We don't yet know what the processor and memory situation is but we aren't expecting all that much.  Considering the carrier and previous model, we suspect that the LG Optimus M+ will dance around the same off-contract price whenever it's released.
