HTC: Sprint to release HTC On Android 4.3 update today Oct 2nd 2013, 17:23, by Nick Gray It may be a few days later than originally promised, but HTC’s Jason Mackenzie has just announced that the Android 4.3 update for the Sprint HTC One will be pushed out today. The update should include Android 4.3 plus launcher bar enhancements, new BlinkFeed features, a widget lock screen style, home button behavior modification (remove black menu bar from screen), ability to display battery level percentage in the notification bar, advanced notifications, quick settings, 6 new Video Highlights themes with custom music options, improved Zoe file management and all the standard Android enhancements included with Android 4.3. We’re not sure when the Sprint HTC One Android 4.3 update push will begin, but you can always try to ping HTC's servers manually by going to Settings > About > Software Updates > Check now on your HTC One. Vertu Constellation is a more "affordable" Vertu Android device Oct 2nd 2013, 17:08, by Dima Aryeh Vertu has already entered the Android market with their previous smartphone, the Vertu Ti. However, the device was incredibly expensive; not many could afford it. Vertu may be an exclusive club of sorts, but it seems that the company wants to branch out just a bit. The release of the Vertu Constellation brings a cheaper, more sleek Android device to the exclusive club of rich people with fancy phones. The Constellation actually has some pretty nice specs going for it. It has a 4.3-inch 720p display, a 1.7GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor (with what seems to be an Adreno 320 GPU), a 13MP camera with dual flash, 32GB of storage, an 1,800 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and full support for both AT&T and T-Mobile bands. Sadly, there is no LTE. It runs a lightly modified version of Android 4.2, so it’s decently modern. However, people don’t buy Vertu devices for the specs. The body is made of grade 5 polished titanium wrapped in calf leather in the color of your choosing. The entire front is covered in a sheet of sapphire glass, which makes the price a little more justifiable. If you can justify having a sapphire-plated phone in the first place, that is. Vertu CEO Massimiliano Pogliani explains that the device differs from other Vertu models in its philosophy, which is “less is more.” Instead of being as fancy and wild as possible, the Constellation was made to be a little more subdued while still keeping its luxury. This is obvious by the clean front, with no giant earpiece protruding. This is also reflected in the price, at a low low $6,630. Not only do you get luxury hardware, but the software is fancy too. That red button on the side? Pressing it opens a suite of Vertu features. It has features like Silent Circle’s encrypted VoIP service, Kaspersky anti-virus, global unlimited WiFi access and more. It even has ringtones performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. Now that’s fancy. If you actually want to pick one up, you’ll have the chance sometime this month.
